SC build up.. for NA

well I'm tired of getting hosed by little civics with DOHC ZC's and NEONS with barber-dodge race engines under the hood. I'm pickng up a centripital Paxton for a 86-93 mustang. Looking for some numbers or info from ANYONE who's done something similar... or insights from those that have seen 13B's blow up becuse of some oversight..

thanks.

Actually you are buying a centrifugal not centripedal supercharger! Many people have installed the Paxton Novi 2000 supercharger. On a stock port engine without an intercooler you can expect about 210 hp at the wheels. Add an intercooler and do some porting and you can probably get to 250 or there abouts. You do realize that at low rpms you have very little to not boost and that boost only rises as rpm increases. Your max amount of boost will only be at max engine rpm. Be very careful not to overspin the supercharger. At its max rpm it will only provide enough air for about 7 or 8 psi or so of air to the rotary and that is at redline. At 4000 rpm you might only have 3 or 4 psi and at 1000 you won't have crap. Expect 13's in the quarter at best with one of these. The key to a good system is in proper tuning which you can not do if you are using the stock computer. I don't care who says what about any piggyback bandaid systems out there, they can only do so much. A stock T-II turbo can produce more power than the Paxton unit can provide and it can do it over a much more broad powerband. For the amount of efort that will be required to make a supercharger fit, you'd be far better off just adding a stock T-II turbo that someone is selling cheap. Otherwise you may still be losing to those built up little rice rockets.

.. centripital is what it produces rather then the design

most of what you've said is basics that are already a given, I build turbo kits for @ 8 different types of vehicles. Thanks, but what I'm looking for is actual build up experience with this layout or rotary experience with a SC of some kind. The right SC with the proper reductins on it will work well and give me a fairly decent low end (eg: 8:1 with a vortech V-1 Strim.. at 2000 rpm will give me @350 cfm )

.. that's that stone age kit for aircraft from atkins right ? saw one up for sale on ebay for $1500 ! as if!

Thanks anyways guys, no one seems to have the particular info i was hoping for.. I'll just have to play with it and see what happens.

Rotarygod, a turbo may get you more power at the top end, what I'm wooking for is useable low to mid range power offered by a SC, how much tq/hp it will rob at the low end and just what kind of pully setup I can use is the question.

just found a local importer of engines, 13BT, tranny and ECu for $900 Can, REW tranny and ECU for $3000 Can and even has two 20b's in stock for under $6K Can. So I think I'll just be looking there for a nice REW.
