S4 13Bt How much boost?

Hey guys!!

This is my first post eh!

I have an Australian delivered 1986 RX7, it has a 1990 engine init which has been turbo extend ported. The engine runs a fuel only microtech Digi. ATM it runs very rich chewing great deals of fuel.....but thats another story.....

As far as i know it is still running the 86" spec turbo - when i bought the car it was running 5-6psi. I have since wound it upto 10-11.5psi which has made a very noticeable difference!!!! I would just like 2 know how much boost can i run safely through the standard turbo? which BTW is also still running the standard top mount intercooler!!!! the AFR's are fine but the turbo is slightly worn!

Cheers
Adric

12 psi on stock turbo and TMIC is pretty much the max, anything higher than that and you'll just be blowing hot air and intake temps skyrocket

With my current setup, I've been doing around 1.2kpa for two years. Car runs well, power stays tremendous. However, im very selective to the conditions that I push the car in.

Edit- Signature is a little out of date. This is through a ported S4 turbo to a S5 i/c on Microtech LT8S. Cars engine compartment is stripped of all extras.

Yeah intake temps are getting pretty high - think i might now be at the stage where i need to upgrade my intercooler to a front mount or fit a water spray to the standard intercooler - which ever is cheaper eh!

the turbo will also prob need to come off 4 a rebuild and might even hi-flow it

Have also posted this question in the Aussie forums - some guys running upto 16psi through the standard turbo / TMIC
