Reliability Mods

Hey guys i just bought myself an 88 rx7 conv. It has 164,000 miles on it. I want my rx7 to last me a while, so i want to know if there are any mods i can do to increase the life of my rotary. Mods or anything i can replace in the motor to increase the lifespan of the rotary without swapping in another motor. If you guys know any please tell me and information about it. thanks

Change oil every 3000 miles, and shift gears at high rpms every once in awhile. That's all you can do for now, but most of the life of your engine will be determined by how good the person before you took care of the car.

Follow this maintenance schedule:
http://www.fc3s.org/how_tos/maintena..._schedule.html

get an inspection done by an RX-7 mechanic (*note: an RX-7 mechanic is VERY different from a Mazda mechanic) to see what needs to be replaced/fixed. Replace/fix all things that need to be replaced/fixed

redline once a day

don't take it past 3000rpm before it warms up (assuming you stock temp gauge works); warmed up = stock gauge is 1/2 way

check your oil level every time you fill up. I keep mine topped up even if it's only slightly below the Full line
