Questions on half BP for mainly track

All right I only got a couple of minutes till I got to be into work, so i got to make this quick for now.

But my plans for my car are track use mainly, Time Attack and Circuit. Now im now worried about Idle so dont hold back. I plan on doing the porting and rebuild my self, Probably wont last as long as if i were to get it done by some one else, but hey got to learn some time.

First of all I have a 87 Gxl. Planning on Half BP right now with ITB settup. Hopefully turn out pretty sweat. Keeping it NA. Want to see what I can it out of it without any forced or juice.

Now for the questions.
Does anyone have any suggestions for port length and sizing. and does anyone know where I can get a race port template. As far as I know most everyone sells mild templates. Also would I get better performance by switching to T2 Side housing and doing a Full Bridge. Also does anyone know what power output I would likely expect.

Got to go to work so i will post more later. Thanks for the responces.

All right you guys can call me stupid cause some of this might be no brainer stuff but bare with me. Ive been out of the game for a little bit.

Like I said before, this car is going to be intended for Track use, occasonaly on street, I also live in Michigan so there is not emissions testing... yaaaaaaaa. Alright my intentions are Bridge porting, Either Half or full depending on feedback I get from you guys. I also plan on doing the porting my self. No past experience porting irons, but I figure on getting a couple junk ones to practice on. Got to learn some day. Now one of the main things Im wondering about is the port it self. Whats the difference in power per port, Half to Full? Would it be beneficial for me to get some T2 housing to work on and Port to the full, or should I just stick with the N/A 5&6 P housing and do the Half. I also plan on getting some S5 NA rotors to push up the compression. Now for this type of porting would I need Crazy Aped seals or would basic oem replacements be just fine. What type of Bearing should I get for best performance.

Alright I know Im asking alot of questions in a row but bare with me. Its what I gotta do to find this stuff out.

And.... more questions. Who sells some good BP templates. And also I was wondering on the waterjacket mod do you guys think its nessesary and could I do decent if I tried it on my own. Thanks for you input guys.
