Putting a 13B into a Porchse 914

Well as stated I want to do this swap. This is my dream car, and it will be a long expensive project. I will be installing a N/A 13B into a 914 chassis, but don't worry it will either be BP or PP. I am sure I could fab up mounts and such things on my own but I would like to see other ppls ideas about how to do it.
My goal is to eventually have a car kinda like this http://www.race-cars.com/carsold/po...t2/914gt2pc.htm but probbably not a full tube frame or such expensive suspension (well maybe WAY down the road). I also like http://www.v8914.com/ . But I will definatly be making teh body like the first one.

Looking at the engine bay of the 914 , i would think that it could take a 20B in it . Since the lenght of a 20B is about the same as a short block chevy engine. May be some left over space for a turbo or supercharger.

ps; nice link about the v8 914.

This is still in the planning stage right not, as I havn't got the 7 or my motorcycle back on the road yet. I really wish that I could have bought the first one.
I would like to put a 20B into one of those but I think the 13B will be more than enough power.

Call Jeff at Rotary Power. Your project is right up their alley. He is a great source for info. His shop has done quite a few Porsche / Rotary swaps. Great project. Post pics of your progress.

Most are a flat 4, and personally I don't want an aircooled engine. Plus I would like to do this kinda stuff for a living so I want to do this as a project.
And the big reason is that I have to have a car made before 1974 so it won't have to go through DEQ, that way I can have an insane N/A on the street.

There are a few 914/6 Porsches. These are factory cars that basically have the 911 flat 6 motor in them, not many around and the ones that are ain't cheap. 914's actually use a flat 4 and are not noted for being fast cars. The 914/6 is a different animal.

Even the 2.0 flat 4 is very weak when tuned well. The 1.7's are flat out anemic. A good swap (and expensive) is the flat 6 3.2 from the 911.

you posted this on other section of the forum.... not sure if you saw my reply.

Here is a nice 911 13BT and a nice 914 13B. Will give you some good ideas on how to put better brakes on the car.... hint hint!

http://web2.airmail.net/atl/Rotary.html

PUt in a 13BT setup.... Pineapple Racing is up bu you .

Stock 914 (915 transaxle) trans is supposed to be good for 300hp. However it has no everdrive.

Weight is the enemy of performance and the destructor of driveline parts. Also launching hard is overly stressful on parts.

You can put an all aluminum LS1 346ci Camaro engine it as well and have close to 400hp (flyewheel)with just a good exhaust system, K&N, and computer tweaking on a stock motor. Add a cam and you can see 400rwhp.
Would be not much more than a well built race 13B from Pineapple.

Have fun and put a cage in that car. They need em.

Yeah, check Kenndy Engineering. When my buddy and I had a Sterling Kit Car, they made all the engine converion kits for bugs and 914s. Why no twin turbos?
