If i got propane down to 80psi on its own fuel rail, could i run it though a highflow injector?

assuming i have means to tune and control with an standalone of some sorts

 

Propane utilizes a whole different set of nozzle sizes.

 

I figured it wouldnt be that easy. Is there an "injector" of sorts that is designed to be used with propan but can be controled as if it was a petrol injector?

 

Go to the Diesel Pik-em-up trucks type forums. There are all sorts of fools running propane injection on the Cummins

 

A common gasoline injector would tolerate 100psi, but would it tolerate a "dry" fuel which instantly evaporates, providing no lubrication? Which ones tolerate 250psi LPG?

 

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that:

Propane is to diesel engines

as

Nitrous Oxide is to gasoline engines

 

there is a company in the US some where that already has 13B for sale that run on propane. I lost there link when IE took a crap on me.

 

Propane and Nitrous both are very effective in Diesel applications, they are both very effective in gasoline engines. Somebody local here in Phoenix has a twin turbo Stealth or 3000GT (I forget which ) running propane injection and getting some crazy power numbers. Not only does propane cool down the intake charge immensly, but it also adds fuel to the mixture to compensate. You can make use of this by tuning for it and cranking the boost way up.

 

Time to rob my grill for parts. Now I really can buy a "nitrous kit" from Home Depot.

but seriously, I really am interested if anyone has info on a practical propane setup, all of the stuff needed should be reasonable in price and locally sold.

They do Propane for Trucks but you might be able to use the system on your car.

 

i do believe that the 1680 ford injectors are capable they were use in the lpg powered crown vics. i've been thinking about this tooo..

make sense why they like to use em together on diesels
