that intake is fucked up,

as if we dont have enough vacuume problems, they have to add a 3 stage intake.

When I saw the first renesis engine on that Rx01 model back in 96 @ the Jacob Javits centre in N.Y.C. it had dual oil pumps 1mm apex seals. I repeated my visit last year and saw the Rx8. It had one oil pump 2mm apex seals 10.0 to 1 compression ratio. Huge 5 and 6 ports. the centre side housing flows exhaust gases into the same chamber in the exhaust manifold. I saw the rotors were slotted right by the side seal, by the edge of the rotor to help exhaust flow into the side housing.

So for intakes, it's got primaries, secondaries, and tertiaries? That's gonna sound awesome! Not to mention the wide powerband!

On the edge of the rotors, the edge right above the side seals. that part of the rotor has what looks like a 45 degree cut right on that edge of the rotor, which passes by the opening of the side housing exhaust port's. Looks like the rotor being cut that way helps to walk the exhaust flow right into the side housing and out the rotor housing.

U gotta remember they r a side port exhaust now - not periphial - 3 side plates = 3 exhausts, not 2.

I guess it only has primaries and secondaries. Tertiaries would have been cool though.

HMMMM wonder what would happen if you built a motor using the normal 13b rotor housings and the renesis side exh port housings?? it looks like the housing can be swapped. this may be what we need to make some insane power!!!

So you would have 2 exhaust ports per rotor? Reducing backpressure on an NA is not normally the best way to create torque... and that motor has nearly pittiful amounts of torque to start off with.

pp the 13b housing for intake too, then we'll have 2 intake and exhaust ports per rotor. this motor'll end up looking like swiss cheese w/ all the ports it's got.

hmm, very nice.
so its back to the 6 port intake setup again, funny how I was being told the other day the 6 port setup is no good for power.

and yes, cranking out somw 13B PP'd rotor housings would make for 3 exhaust ports all up each rotor, and wait for it, 4 intake ports, should get some decent airflow then

hey now the factory seems to have dropped the turbo rotor, does this mark the return of the wildly ported rotor to the streets?? we can only hope.

They should of made the exhuast a 6port also! LOL!!! I don't think the sleeve could hold up to the heat though. That could make it more torquey, but probably not very feasble.

They should have made it turbo... The torque curve on that motor cries of Honda so badly it makes me sick...

What?? The curve I saw was almost horizontally flat on torque, and diagonally flat on HP. Maybe I saw a photoshopped dyno chart.

I thought they were planning to do some kind of 5th and 6th port actuation seperate of the 3rd and 4th ports. Looks like the first throttle body opens and you get the primaries, then the second throttle body opens and you get the other four ports. I was under the impression it would be three stages, not two. I don't see any actuators attached to 5 and 6, am I missing something here or was I just misinformed?

Judge Ito,
When you saw those exhaust ports, did the intermediate housing have a common chamber or were the two rotors seperated? And were the rotors notched the entire length of the rotor or just on the leading side?

um yeah, if there is no seperate actuation for the 5th and 6th port, its pretty pointless, if that was the case, I would imagine they would have designed it with just a very large secondary port rather that secondary and tertiary ports.

and they must be seperate, otherwise it wouldnt be three stage would it?
