as for the stock apex seals being good for a lot of hp, i see what you guys are saying, but you have to understand not everyone can have perfect tuning all the time. it's good to have a safeguard against detonation just in case. it's like saying if you tune a turbo piston engine right there's no point in upgrading to forged pistons and rods. if this is indeed a stronger apex seal (although that's still to be decided) then i want it.
the main deifference is that the stronger apex seal you go with (mazda comp -steel or NB ceramics) if you blow the motor you WILL spend more rebuilding becuase those apex seals tend to tear **** up.Why are you building a motor for high power and going to slack on the tuning? if you went through that much trouble the least you could do is find a reputable tuner, if they say you need 3mm apex seals they suck go find another one. as for the piston motors that is a completly different story they do it for other reasons then strength because the stock rods will not hold up so yes you have to upgrade but the stock apex seals will hold up so why change em? ya get waht i'm saying? they also do it for less recipoccaprting (SP?) weight so they spin higher rpms! please do not compare the inferior piston motor to my beloved rotary! but the way the ceramics are 3 times as expensive as the mazdacomp ones

**** !! , ........ I already bought the HURLEYS so I will use them and try to compare performance , I also like the additional safety factor ( no internal damage ) introduced by these seals .

who is a good tuner? I live around dallas is RP any good as far as tuning? I 've been to 3 drag wars and i have never seen the rx7.com car make it down the track, I'm not putting them down but that makes me wonder about their tunning capabilitys. other then that where is a good place to rebuild a motor?
