Yeah, like all those NSU's that made peak torque at 4000rpm, and were tapped out for power by 6500, just like a stockport 12A.

Or like the LeMans car that was using an 8000rpm shiftpoint...

you simply cannot generalize like that because there are so many different ways to do a port.

If you want to generalize, try some *realistic* generalities, like "The amount of overlap makes the engine very sensitive to exhaust restriction" or "low load and RPM efficiency is quite bad but under full load it's more powerful and fuel efficient than a side port engine, which is why Mazda uses side port engines on the street and PP engines for racing" or "the torque curve is typically flatter than Kansas across the whole rev range".

On the oither hand some guy heard from this other guy who knows someone who said that PP engines idle at like 3500rpm and they don't make any power until 15,000rpm so I'll continue playing the telephone game and raise the RPM levels and pass it on...

The PP's that i have been for rides in, have all pretty much had 'tap' like power delivery with the tap being turned on at 5500rpm

they idle'd at around 1800-2200rpm, had nothing under 5500rpm but once it got to 5500 they pulled like a school boy till the redlines of 9500-10000rpm

they are a 'radical' motor in terms of a road car yes, but if you want the bees knees of a HP rotary then a PP is where its at. At this stage i think my next engine will be semi PP T

does anyone know a good write up and the measurments of a peripheral port? i'm trying build a 12a peripheral port, not going be daily driven but i'm going to use it once in awhile out on the streets. Also do you guys think 48/50 sized carb is good for a peripheral port?

48mm ida is usually what ROb at pineapple uses for street driven 12a peripherals, with the biggest being a 51. CJ

This is a dyno plot of my 13B peripheral without nitrous. There was something wrong with the dyno as I've been to it 3 different times with 3 different cars. Every time, the dyno said the rpms of the car off between 1k to 1.5k. Take this sheet with a grain of salt, as when I was spinning it 11k on the dyno, the dyno only read 9,300rpms or so. When I was spinning it to 10k rpms, it only read about 8,700ish on the dyno. Don't know whats wrong with it, but it here it is anyways. CJ

I have done alot of research and its all down to experiance, I would not try to make a set of P/P Housings myself even though i was up for it at the begining, there is to many other things to think about without the Housings being wrong.

I would rather some one who has been through the prosses and know what there doing drill big holes in my $600 worth of housings if you catch my drift.

I would not even think of not using new parts for somthing this Powerfull.
