Hi,

I am looking at installing an aluminum aftermarket radiator to cure my overheating problem. Are the koyo or fluidyne good solutions? What are other good choices for a good price. Where is the best place to order from? Are there any competitive prices available in Canada or does it have to come from the US?

u can get koyo for 375 from a place in calli, but i dont have their # so ill pm u it, b4 i get in trouble for anything postin the info , but check with jason he has a price matchin policy and his service is great...

If you are going to mount it vertically get the Koyo. It's a little bigger than the Fluidyne. If going in the stock location, go with the Fluidyne. It is much easier to install here. The reason I say go with the Koyo for vertical installs is because it is much bigger and the size won't effect how hard it is to install. Plus every inch you gain with surface area is only going to help keep your engine cooler. If you can get the Koyo simply for the size. I'm sure they are both great upgrades but I think in this instance size does matter.

I had a Mazda Comp in my FD for about 2 years. I now have a Koyo on order. The Mazda comp suddenly started leaking from one corner where there's no apparent damage. My guess is the epoxy bonding started coming apart there. The Fluidyne & Koyo does NOT use epoxy. Just my experience.

Is it possible to mount the koyo in the stock location? How extensive are the mods to change the position to vertical? For those who are using fluidyne, have you seen any significant coolant temperature changes?

Looking at absoluteradiators site...........It didnt make any mention on fitment problems w/ the koyo radiator. Matter a fact it says its a direct fit. What gives? Is this the same radiator everyone else is talking about?

you are going to have mount it forward. i would go with the fluidyne. if you have a fmic you can stand it up and go with koyo. the koyo is thicker so it pushes up smic's. there haven't been any fitment problems with the fluidyne's to my knowledge.

does anyone have a koyo radiator mounted in the stock, slant position? is it posible? I would like the benefit that the thickness of the koyo will provide over the fluidyne however do not want to switch to a fmic. Please let me know.

There have been a few people on the big-list that have put the koyo in the stock position, as well as some that have put the srx7.com radiator (jury is still out if it's the same as the koyo) in the stock position. It's been done, you can do it, but it will take some modification to other parts, and you'll have to put more work in compared to the fluidyne. As long as you know this and are comfortable with the extra fabrication, then go for it.
