Question Painting RB Headers

Is it advised to paint the RacingBeat header and presilencer in order to prevent rust? I have seen many pictures where they have rusted and looked pretty terrible. I would prefer not to paint them and leave them nice and shiney, but at the same time I don't want them to look like I just pulled them out of the junkyard after a while.

For those of you that have them, how do you like them (preformance wise), and how do they hold up to the seasons? I drive my 7 in the winter, so that could play a factor.

you can paint, but the paint will start burning off about 30 seconds after you start the engine....

Exhaust paint works fairly well.

Karack, I've heard header wrap decreases the life of the header, seems really out there.. how true is that? Also, what is a good ceramic coating to use?

it will shorten the life of the header, but the life of the header is like 47 years, so even if we cut that in half, its still a really long time.

i've had my header since 1993, and it was used when i got it!

I painted my header with grill paint. It's about $5 bucks at Walmart, I DD my FB and after 8 years my header still looks good.

there isn't alot of ceramics that can't handle even as low as 2000*F. talk to the coating shops and they will let you know what should work.

For ceramic coating on turbo rotary, I've used sporttuner.com and jet hot with years of service. Sport tuner is my first choice since he's a rotary supporter and has a higher temp coating. Both have a variety of coatings with varying temperature rating - go for the highest rated temp.

I also do ceramic coating. I have relatively quick turn around time also. LMK if you don't find someone local to help you out.
