Need a new alternator, where to get?
Need a new alternator, where to get?
Is there any non stock alternator that fits in the rx7, that can deliver more then 100 amps?
My stock one is dying and im getting bad ignition breakup after a few laps due to the voltage dropping below 13v.
I know some ppl on this board have non oem alternators on there car. So what does fit, and does not cost an arm and a leg?
Some will ask why i need a new bigger alternator that delivers more amps then the stock. Well the reason is, at the current state at full wot in my race car im drawing about 85amps. Right now that's way more then the faulty stock one can deliver. Ofc a stock one would deliver this much amp, but for how long. It will get quite warm delivering this much all the time.
And i also need an alternator that delivers consistent voltage as well. I have seen ppl having problems with the voltage dropping as well. Ive contacted a local alternator shop, but im guessing they are gonna ask for an arm and a leg for a new alternator. So if someone has a solution for me, it would be great.
I would need to get one frome somewhere i could order it over the internett and have them shipped it to norway.

I installed a remanufactured GM CS130 on one of mine and it makes 140 amps, purchased from ebay . It required just a little grinding on one of its mounting ears to fit. It was less than $100 and it came with the pigtail to hook up to my wiring. The tutorial for it is somewhere on the forum.
Damn my bad man, I should have noticed you have an FD, duh. Well I don't know about this fitting in there, I know things are much tighter on the FD and the body of this alternator is slightly larger than my stocker was.
