NA FC performance?

hey, im thinkn bout getting an FC, but in my area there are only NA ones available. through alittle bit of reaserch it seams that it would be very difficult/costly to turbo the NA version, so i was wondering if there is any way to get alot of power out of the NA FC?

bridge port , j port , MONSTER PORT

it all depends on how long you want your motor to last you could go with a monster street ported primarys and bridged secondarys and add as much spray as you need if you put the right fuel too it or go with a full bridge wilth something like a 6-7mm bridge and a large gap between your coolant seal and some spray and its a good 12 sec car but not very "streetable"

you will spend a lot less just porting it take it to some one (that can be trusted) at most 2k for rebuild and b-port 500 for nitrous about 250 for injectors (or go carb)and you will have a car that will stomp most turbo cars. you would have to get a rebuild anyways before running turbo about 1.5k then a turbo $800 then brackets and **** about 300 then injectors 250, E6K (or any other ems) 1k, fuel pump 150, dyno time tuning and so on for a turbo. If you go for porting you can be eating cars and saving for a turbo set up to run on your bp motor to make 450+hp. if your looking to make 300 hp just go with a monster street port maybe a partial bridge port bpu and a 75 -100 shot (with the fuel)

BTW:there is a lot more than just your motor you have to look at when making a fast car

If you have any questions just let me know

You can't properly turbo an N/A no matter how its ported
there is a super charger you can save up for though...

And that is why?

Bearing in mind that mamy people are going to 9.7 rotors for their turbo engines, and *most* N/A engines had 9.4 compression which splits the difference between the 9.7 and 9.0 from the S5/FD, it can't be compression ratio.

Given that most engine parts between turbo and non (besides rotors) are identical, it can't be that, unless you're referring to the turbo end plates having stronger upper dowel pin bosses, in which case it's a matter of "oh well, guess i'd better dowel pin the engine and/or use better endplates and/or just make damned sure it never detonates". Which goes for some turbo engines too. So it can't be that.

Can't be the ECU either, since even turbo guys get away from OEM. The turbo and N/A wiring harness is pin-identical save for four wires (S4 chassis anyway). In either event, it can't be that either.

So what is it?

- Pete (I know: Once you put a turbo on, it's no longer N/A)

You need to sit down and think about what you want...how much you want to spend...and how long can you invest in this project.

The FC might be the "wrong" car to be playing with in the first place?

check out the 2nd gen archive theres a real decent write up on NA performance with a couple cars pushin into the 13s with seemingly pretty streetable cars (mind there striped for weight) its somtin like how too build a beefy NA or somtin like that
