The unleaded will make your 02 sensor fail quicker

You mean LEADED will make the O2 sensor fail... the lead deposits quickly coat the O2 sensor as well as the spark plugs and the insides of the engine with residue (aka "nasty looking crud"). As well as coating catalytic converters. The coating prevents the sensor from working, the spark plugs from working (anybody ever have to clean a spark plug long before its replacement time? i'm a lil' too young for that, but i've worked with the machinery), the converter from working, and I'd really hate to think about what the deposits might be doing to the ability of the seals to move freely in their slots and grooves.

Depending on what additives are in the unleaded, adding leaded might create a disproportionate octane increase. Some addititives like triptane are hyper-responsive to lead. Of course, unless you're in with the refinery, it's anybody's guess as to what's actually in the cocktail that we call gasoline...

Isnt vp c16 leaded??? to run 22-25 psi, would 105 octane be good enough??? So leaded gas is a no no??
The race gas at the drag strip is very very exspensive. So exspensive I woundnt even buy it there.. The strip is about 45 miles from here. So If I had 1/4 tank 93 octane and with me a 5 gal tank of 105 octane would that be anough octane to run 22psi(3 gal of 93 and 5 gal of 105). If what im saying is misleading let me know and I will refrase it.

You DO NOT mix. Only the dumb Supra guys do this. You have a 17mm bolt on the bottom of your gas tank. Drain all the pump gas and fill it with C16 only. As far as O2 sensors are concerned, who gives a ****?? Its a whoppin $30 and if your running a Haltech, you don't need it anyhow. I leave mine disconnected. If your running 22psi, you want to run race gas.

Yes, you C16 is leaded and will withstand detonation 10fold versus pump gas. C16 burns much slower than pump gas, which is what you want when you run more than 17lbs or so. C16 isn't cheap. Its around $6.00 per gallion, but whats $6.00 vs. $3000 for a new motor??!

so would 104 octane be adequate for 22psi??? I think the highest I can get around here is like 106 unleaded. How do you do a race gas blend?? Does that mean taking 106 unleaded and mixing it with 93 pump gas?? i dont know where to get c16 thats the problem.

Did you read my post??? I said You DON'T mix the fuel!! I don't think 104 is going to cut it, but I suppose you can try it. If the car starts to break up, I hope you let off in time. Good luck, sounds like your going to need it.

ErnieT, thank you! I guess its best to stay on the safe side. I dont have the money to be adventurous with good luck. I was told never go in WOT with less than 1/4 tank becuase with the gas shaking in the tank might cuase air bubbles to get in the fuel system or something like that. Do you think 5 gals is enough???

5 gallions should be ok, if your dyno tuning or racing at the drag strip. I would bring two 5gal. containers with you to an event. And yea, fuel slosh is common w/ RX7's, so the more the better.
