I'm not but most of the top high horsepower drag racers are, especially when using Alcohol. Other than that, there is no need to use one.

Hi mate what pump are you using?
Could you use it on the street?
By the way i know your using methanol, il also be using methanol but i would like to use it for the 3rd stage of injection on my setup.
Also do you think it would matter if the fuel cell is in the boot as im thinking under hard acceleration the pump may not be able to draw the fuel, if the fuel cell is too far from the pump?

I run the regular Aeromotive pump. I am currently running 12 1600cc injectors and it had no problem keeping up with them on the dyno. I run my cell in the rear and am also concerened with starving the pump. From what i have read is that you can get away with a rear mounted cell down to about a 1.2X 60'. Then you start having problems. I am definitely going to test this theory, hopefully the combination of -12 line and such a short run will really help. We'll see!

Could you feed the mechanical pump with a low pressure, high volume lift pump?

It would have to be very high volume. Most of the pumps that i have found that can do it cost twice the price of a mech pump and will do the job by them self.

Your answer surprised me so I looked up the specs. Gave me a whole new respect for belt driven pumps. 10GPM @ 100 PSI is complete insanity.
