The methanol only provides you with the safety and cushion to push the power to those levels. The biggest enemy of a rotary motor is heat. The more you suppress heat the more reliable it gets. Once your charge temps get to a certain level no matter what the octane, or what ever tune you can master in there it's going to preignite and develop detonation. Methanol is the answer to the heat. One thing the rotary motor cannot take advantage of by using methanol is being not able to increase compression ratio but that is often compensated by boost!

Good luck bro, good to see you tryin !

Sometimes the junkyard motors are faster than than high dollar ones. An expensive high power motor doesn't make a fast car .

That is true, but also too much boost will blow either. Right Allen?

Not nearly as fast as bad tuning. (on my part)

It's not the boost that killed it, it was the detonation.

Amen to that,My Rx3 has a junkyard motor that i bought for $120 bucks 4 years ago.

Luckly this motor didn't have to much wear,so i streetport, changed the seals and

studded the motor with the same parts it came with.To good to be true but it is still

running strong and i am going to take it out again with the same engine on My Rx3

with a bigger turbo that i will try for 08.ITs only a 91MM Thumper turbo to be exact. He he.
