Marco Acosta to drag race in a 4 Rotor!

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
That is why grouping engines based on firing type is plain stupidity, it needs to based on "air flow" in a restricted class.
make everyone run a 32mm air inlet restrictor, then you will fix engine power to around 300bhp regardless of wether you run turbo/nos/ nitro, 1000cc or a big block or a gas turbine
this is what is happening in many proffesional motorsport series around the world to even up competition, you cannot cheat the laws of physics.
Even rating on displacement does not work, uless you limit revs, and turbo boost pressure as well, then fuel, the etc etc.....
Politics play a big part ! remember what happend to Mazda after 91???? ........ Remember what happened to mazda in Australia after 84???? BANNED

The funny part is all this confustion is NSU's fault
They convinced everyone that Wankels should have their displacements measured as the displacement of a single chamber times number of rotors, meaning the engine processes its displacement every single revolution, even though 4-stroke piston engines require TWO revolutions to process THEIR rated displacement.
Why? So the engines would look half the size they "really" are. That way NSU could have an engine that is taxed like a 1-liter but breathes like a 2-liter. Very competitive, no?

God I love this thread. Rice and Ito were sayign the same thigns like 4 times back and forth in diff ways and got each other confused.
Anyways, now that all the Juicy info has been spilled, let me Sumarize the MORAL of this lesson:
The DISPLACEMENT that an engine has IS NOT to be comfused with the AMOUNT OF WORK an engine does.
Simple enough for me

Politics is playing a big part at LeMans again!
The 4-rotor is running with a 42mm restrictor this time around! Power is already down to about 500BHP!

Air restricting plates suck! I think they need to start stepping away from that, cus that is what has just taken rotarys out of teh competition completely over the last ten years in most racing except drag. I mean come on. Any ways thats just my thought.
