thats ****** crazy! I have a custom 2002 Mazda RX7 Spirit R with a rebuilt Japanese RZ engine, i bumped up the displacment to 2.6 litres and have a three rotor conversion. It puts out 520 hp!!! the best run i have ever had (without nos) is 11.0 seconds @ 128 mph. I have alot of mods on my car and i was just wondering what mods you have on yours. Hey, Im an aircraft mech too. 
The reason pure oxygen would be so dangerous is that it causes an auto igntion event when it comes into contact with oil, grease, gasoline. So if you had an underhood leak. KABOOM, no more car, no more driver.
