Well this is a customers car. 1971 Datsun 1200 deluxe. I'm using a 13B bridgeport series 5 engine with a Nitrous Extreme N2o kit. This Car we are using has a 3/4 Race chassis with the stock front end. We Just ran a record breaking 9.0 @143mph run here in the USA with a 3/4 chassis car. Yes we did this with no boost(or turbo) on a $40.00 nitrous oxide bottle fill. Basically it took $40 bucks of nitrous to run this nice 9.0 run. I say yes for the poor mans super charger. Got Nitrous?

8.80 to 8.90 is our goal for this 3/4 chassis car.

$40 to make 1 run!! Damn that is expensive. Not familiar with nitrous prices but I would think that if you substituted pure oxygen it would give similar or slightly less performance boost that nitrous, would it. I would think more oxygen in combustion chamber would mean more power, no? and I bet oxygen is much cheaper to buy than nitrous.

Pure oxygen would be bad; the reason nitrous oxide is used is because the two nitrogen atoms make the molecule take a little bit longer to break apart and the fuel/air mixture will still burn... with just pure oxygen it would happen right away and would detonate. Not detonate under load, or running lean, detonate no matter what else you do to it. Period.

thats ****** crazy! I have a custom 2002 Mazda RX7 Spirit R with a rebuilt Japanese RZ engine, i bumped up the displacment to 2.6 litres and have a three rotor conversion. It puts out 520 hp!!! the best run i have ever had (without nos) is 11.0 seconds @ 128 mph. I have alot of mods on my car and i was just wondering what mods you have on yours. I get most of my engine stuff (turbos, intercoolers, etc...) from Apexi, i was wondering were you got your turbo?
