Jay-tech intake/throttle body - idle problem

I have a Jay-tech intake manifold with one of their large throttle body setups (as pictured below) on a Cosmo motor with a large street port. The problem is, the throttle blades do not seal completely within the throttle body, such that there is too much air coming past and the car will not idle lower than ~1500rpm, even with the throttle screw set at the lowest possible setting. I'm using a Haltech E6X for what its worth.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can decrease the idle without having to have some machining done on the throttlebody/plates?

TIA

1st, make absolutely sure there are NO vac leaks at all. If your problem persist get a hold of KG parts. There HIGH quality products, I'm sure if theres a problem, they'll fix it.

Thanks. There are definitely no vaccum leaks at this point.

Does anyone have experience using the Haltech idle control motor? Would this be able to lower the idle?

Although I don't have direct experiace with it, I'm guessing that it'll only raise it. Its basically a controlled vac leak using a stepper motor. So you'd start with what you have now, and plumb in this stepper motor into a large vac line. So theres no way it'll lower idle. Much like theres no way a boost controller can lower your boost lower then the diaphram spring will allow.

the throttle body

alot of people have had problems with that throttle body, you might want to try the E&J 8 injector throttle body. The Web is www.eastcoastparts.com. This is throttle body that all the big dogs are using in Puerto Rico. The reason for the idle problem with the j tech is the chain combination it keeps them open. Check out the web site is the best piece in the market at this time.

Same throttlebody but alot cheaper http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/8-INJ...temZ8019467265 And if you want that same throttle body before it is machined and only flows 1000cfm's contact Russ Racing the sell it for I believe, but don't quote me, for only $350. http://www.russracing.com/Main.html

E&J throttle body

Ross machine has one type and chm has another type and they are both ok items. My understanding is that the E&J is the highest flowing in the market 1244 cfms. There is no price in getting the best part and best in performance in the market. They are also working on a aluminum rotor. i wish them best of luck.

High idle

I have the jtech with the tech3r and I had high idle. I adjusted the tech program. I also played around with the throttle screw. Its still alittle higher then normal though.
