inexpensive High-flow cat? (FC)

Looking for recomendations on a 2.5inch in/out high-flow cat for an FC. Was going 2.5 down pipe, delete first two pre-cats, high-flow main, 2.5 to single exhaust exit and thinking of using an Apex-i WS muffler. Good plan? (Sounds cheap to me, and thats what I like).

Thanks

For a good cheap cat I would highly recomend going with a carsound. Made by magnaflow and can be found cheap on ebay. I personally have not yet had any experience with them but have heard wonderful things.

I'm probably wrong on this because I'm still new to the rx crowd, but I would go with a dual system. It seems a single can be a bit restrictive. Plus it just looks nicer But, like I said I'm new, and have not had too much experience with this.

...sounds great. Just be sure you keep some of the emissions-things (ACV, and Airpump) otherwise it'll burn out before you put in your 3rd tank of gas. 2.5" is a fine diameter for an N/A FC single, won't be any more of a restriction than the cat you're putting in. I don't think the setup would be too loud either, as you're still on the cast-manifold; well, no louder than a trashed out stock setup...

...as for single vs dual; dual is just a single, with some more piping and another muffler attached to it. Quieter, heavier, more expensive, and gives that real 'dual exhaust' look...

...I'm w/ you. Single; cheaper, lighter, and I prefer 1 can to 2...

...it IS loud though <toobad>...

I have a direct fit co cat, $90 and since it's made specidifcally to fit an RX-7 I hope it will stand up to the heat...

The cats on ebay won't likely last because of the higher combustion temps of the rotary. You also need to make sure that the split air pipe section is there.
