Idemitsu Rotary Premix

I typically use Motul 600 100% synthetic ester premix in my FC getting full lubrication via premix at a ratio of 1oz:1gallon. Works extremely well with very little smoking.

If for some reason I dont have Motul, I use standard Castrol TC3W approxed two stroke. The viscosity is higher. Color is the same so is the smell.

Recently I purchased 2qts of Idemitsu synthetic blend premix. However a few things have come to my attention. On the website they claim to exceed JASO FC standards, but the bottle shows no sign of officially having been certified. I should've caught on to the wording of that one. Also, the oil is a "Idemitsu" product but manufactured and distributed by Apollo America Corp. a US subsidary of Idemitsu.

Im still a little hesitent to use the product. I havent gotten any solid reviews or a solid analysis of the protection properties of the premix. Physically, this premix has the lowest viscosity of any premix I've used, is almost clear and has a much different smell then others. A much stronger solvent smell. They also recommend a ration of 1/2oz:1gallon and im wondering if this is because of the higher solvent level of this premix.

Basically, I'd appreciate if anyone could supply some solid information or links to this product. Thanks

so what your saying is that you use 1oz to one gallon ratio? so for a full tank you put about 13 oz of 2 stroke in your tank? isnt that kinda high? i put about 4oz of mmo in my FD per fill up.

Talked to a distributor for Idemitsu Racing Rotary Fuel Lube (Premix) and they stated that the 1/2 ounce per gallon is for engines equipped with a MOP (metering oil pump). And if your MOP is disabled and are running just premix 1 ounce per gallon is fine.

Hey Lupe,
How much do you premix running high boost (close to 30psi) and do you have the MOP working or is it staight premix?

Last time I dynoed 2 weeks ago, I added about 4-5 ounces to 15 gallons of C16. I'm scared to put alot of oil in my race gas, it just doesn't seem right

I removed my oil metering pump 4 years ago.

Are you running straight premix? Or the MOP and premix?

4-5oz without the MOP is like feeding baby food to a whale!
I would not even run at minimum 1oz per gallon on a setup like yours.
Poor apex seals!

Use the VP racing RC-3 castor pre mix. It was designed specificaly for premixing when using corrosive fuels like alcohol/methanol, nitromethane and high octane fules that contain a lot of lead like C-16. It does a remarkable job without sparkplug fouling or leaving any carbon deposits. You'll be suprise of the lack of ware on the side and rotor housing not to mention the apex and side seals. We use 8oz to every 5 gallons on our all-motor alcohol car and have never fouled a plug as of yet. On my race car I used 6 to 7oz per 5 gallons of C-116 and 10 oz per 5 gallons of methanol. I know of people that use a lot more without any ill effects other than some smoking but that's way to extreme for a street/strip application.
Klotz Lubricants also make a similar product called BeNol.
Castor oil also smell so damm pretty good.
Eric one word of advise. I don't premix untill I'm ready to use it. If it sits to long after being premixed especialy in cold climates it might seperate from the fuel but not as bad as the regular 2-stroke or synthetic stuff though.

Kind of off-topic here but I've been using VP C16 for awhile now but I'm worried about it getting old...... after it's been sitting in my tank for 3 weeks or so I just junk it. Am I being too cautious about the gas going bad from sitting too long.

I'll start using the VP RC-3 Castor Oil.

I run idemitsu 20w50 in my motor, got it from my homie Ari over at www.rx7.com. I may try the premix for the hell of it, I suppose at this power/boost level it couldn't hurt.
