wow, what a name, i bet kurgan will be amused
you generally need full turbo drivetrain (tranny, driveshaft, differential, halfshafts), turbo flywheel and clutch, alternator, ECU. I think thats the most of it

Damn, its easier than everyone says...
1. Sell your base model
2. Buy a TII

Ok, so I'll yank the drivetrain out of my ONLY transportation and spend twice the value of a TII to have something thats still worth half as much..... Riiiiight.....

Seriously though, for those who don't know the deal, I pieced together a "Frankenseven" with TII and GXL components added to my original SE. My friend did all the work while I was out of the country, and it was STILL a stupid idea now that I look back on the project. I would have saved a lot of money by simply selling my SE and buying a TII, not to mention the time and effort that I would have saved my friend. Also, I would like to point out again that I was out of the country, and didn't need my car as a daily driver. I am sure that there are a few people on this forum who actually could convert an NA into a TII in one weekend, but I think that they will also tell you that it isn't worth the trouble unless you have a convertible and live in a country like the US where turbocharged convertibles are not available. Go ahead, check the Blue Book values for a 87-91 NA vs. a TII of the same year and condition, and you will not find much price difference:

For those still tracking my project, error #2 was starting on a single-turbo conversion before trying everything out with the stock turbos first. Now, not only am I an additional $10K in the hole for the turbo conversion, but I will also have the task of trouble-shooting and tuning an entirely new car, rather than a single system or subsystem at a time. Unlike my error in the previous paragraph, there are still some good points to doing this, but for the most part it was a mistake.

How much work is it if you already have all the parts needed? My friend is doing this and I've been suckered into helping. I realize we'll have to swap a lot of parts and do a bunch of wiring. Am I going to regret this?

keven landers' web site, has a good writeup on it. I did it and it's not that hard. if you can find one buy a t2, I live in the rust belt and you are going to pay top dollar a t2 that is as nice as my se/t2. out of pocket it cost me about $1000.
