Holley 600...

I was wondering where I could find an intake to bolt my 600 holley to my 12A. Do any of you guys run nitrous on your rotary?

It's only about $190 just for the intake manifold from RB.

If you have time and patients it is not hard. But I would go with the mechanical secondary carb. because vacume sec. does not have meter jets so if you want to tune for top end you need to change the meter plate or convert to mechanical which has metering block with removable jets. I think Racing Beat carb. is a rip off considering off shelf carb. is almost half the price which can be tuned for under $50.

Wow. I'm just going to speak up to say that you obviously have no idea how RB modifies their Holley carbs to suit a rotary. Sure you can use an off-the-shelf carb if you only want to go straight, but if you want to turn, it's going to take some work. Just take note of how the carb is oriented on a rotary versus a boinger.

P.S. Carbs suck. EFI is the way to go.

All that takes is center hung floats, and that does NOT justify the cost of what RB carges for their carbs. They better do more mods than that! ! ! I ran a 10.4 last night and their was another guy their with a similar set up with a RB Holley and he was getting the same time?

Mazdized:
I already have a metering block for my secs so my secs are adjustable. By the way the secs is not for the high rpm's. The air bleeds control air/fuel at high rpm's.

Jets control low to mid rpm mixture and air bleeds control the high rpm mix. Bigger jets richen low to mid and smaller air bleeds richen high rpm mix.

I had absolutely no problem with large copper float bowls even at high speed turns like turn 1 at Thunder Hill. If you like to pay and buy some thing as a kit fine. But can you tell me just exactly what RB does to their Holley carb. ? since you know all about that.

No body knows what RB does to their Holley's, unless their is a Holley guru that just so happens to stumble on to a RB Holley. Then Iam sure they would be able to figure it out. But I have contacted RB and they wont say ****, I even told them I would compinsate them for the info, they wouldnt cooperate. My 600 will stumble, but it is not that bad. When I had the 600 on my stock port engine it would really stumble bad, but now it is on my street port and I have played with it and it is getting better and better. I think the biggest things they do is make the vac secs open better, put on center hung floats and hopefully make the air bleeds adjustable?

The first time i put the Holley 600 on my stock port 12a, after driving it for a bit i shut off the motor and it back fired so hard it blew out the muffler, had like a big hole on a side of it. It turned out that idle mixture was set for a v8 or something.

Thank you. But to some one who likes to pay over priced kit put together from off the shelf parts he would think that is because RB has put soooo much research and effort they should keep it as a secret so the over priced money they paid will be worth some thing.

On my stock port, when the engine idled high and I would not allow it to idle down for a few secs it would back fire good, also!

12aBridgeport: Sounds like you needed a new muffler anyways.

Mazdized: Yeah, thier over priced carb is worth 10.4 on the 1/8 mle.
