HF cat clogged?

Hey all,
How can you tell if a cat is clogged? If I hold it up to the sun and look thru the other end, I see blackness. Is that right? Should I see some light?
Well, using a flashlight also produces blackness. If that is the case of a clogged cat, my Bonez HF w/ less than 8k miles is clogged.

I will see how my resonated MP holds up. I put it on w/ N1 duals and at idle it was not bad. Have not drove it yet, but revveed it up and it got kinda loud. Well, probably will switch to my Pettit CB after a couple of days. I'll drive it around like it is and **** people off.

Thanks,
Steve

Can't help you there ... but i'm curious.

Does yours have any rust on it?
I'm trying to gauge how old it is ... It was on the car before i bought it.

yeah it sounds stuffed, if you hold it up to the sun and look through it you should be able to see light through it. My cat did the same thing, though it only took about 2500 KM hehehe, so i removed it and put it on the dyno and gained about 45 RWHP, I run premix which i reckon is what killed it.

do you have the air pump still attached? If not...they that's what did it.

Ya,
I still had the airpump attached.

How can it clog otherwise?

My cat has some rust on it and it has a used look to it.

Either way, when I dyno'd it last month, I made 276 rwhp. I felt i should have made around 330. With what you say cach22, the clogged cat could be where my 50 hp are. Plus now w/ MP, I prob should get a few more.

Thanks,
Steve
