Most people on this forum couldn't tell you the exacts on even one of those things.

racing beat and mazdatrix are experts in this field and could help you alot more than most people on this forum. Not saying there isn't anyone on here that dosen't know but you'll get far more direct and faster advice through them. Just go to there site and e-mail them.

Your right, but believe me i cant afford their advice.
They wont give it to me unless a fee is involved, and i dont blame them, they have to make a living.

Everyone is going the Turbo way...even here in RSA.
Only track cars are ported, what is the fun with a Turbo...??It takes the speciality out of a Wankel , according to me, any engine can become fast with a Turbo.N/A is the way to go for me.

We have a 900 flywheel bhp Toyota 4-age drag car here, registered, and street legal, does a 9 dead 1/4 mile the Rotaries only manage 500hp and 12sec times.

The Peripheral 12A`s run 13.1...13.3 sec ...mostly 230BHP at 11 000 rpm.

I know its 1 second slower, but the Turbo engine costs almost 4 times as much...and doesnt sound half as nice

Is all the Bridge & Peripheral drivers dead..??

I think a more appropriate question you should ask yourself is what is your goal? pick a hp range build double to that and go from there. to just say that you blindly want information on pport engines that hundreds if not not thousands of mechanics have spent Millions of cumulative hours on research and testing is quite vague. most wont tell you because 1 its a company trade secret and they make money for it as you previously mentioned, or 2 its tribal knowledge. Now Im not saying the information Isnt out there. Im just saying a quick search on any search engine images for rotary port timing will yield stupid results.

my suggestion because quite honestly im in the same boat making my first rotary rebuild ever a 12a pport turbo because go big or go home. would be to sit in front of the computer until your eyes crust over crawling the dark deep holes of the 5, 10 year old posts and 20 or 30 or maybe even 39 year old pictures of mazda and rotary tech.

happy hunting
