G-tech pro

Has anyone used a G-tech pro on their car? How many G's did you pull on the skidpad?

I have used the Gtech several times on my TII, but never to measure Gforce. Always HP and 1/4 mile times.
I must say that is pretty acurate!

Do you have the new one or the older one? I've heard that those things are inaccurate with rotaries??? I guess someone just doesn't know how to set it up.

I think it is a GREAT device and wonderful thing is it doesn't need to be hooked up to anything except to the cigarette lighter. I only used it for 0-60 and 1/4mile it is very accurate as my friend timed it with his stop watch.

How could it be inaccurate with a rotary? It's just an accelerometer, right?

**** then if you put it in a 300ZX, I bet it reads 600hp LOL easily. LOL

It showed like 260 something for mine, but I hit a small dip and boom it said like 557 LOL

well you have to use it on a flat surface and don't like give it gas then off gas and on gas...etc. if you want accurate readings go to a Dyno. this is for general ideas.

dyno is the only way to really know what it is.

I see the g-tech as a good in-car 1/4 mile timer and maybe the skid-pad.

I think the most impressive stat rx-7's would show is cornering G's. The 89 turbo II pulled .89 g's and was nearly the best handling cars up to 89, even compared to 911's. The tires are only 205's and have lots of room for improvement. The 3rd gen pulled .97 and also had small 225's on them. This was better than the 911,NSX, Corvette and basically every other production car back then. A 3rd gen with fat sticky tires and coilovers must be insane on the skidpad and I dought any stock Ferrari or Porsche would come close. I'll bet a lot of the cars on this forum could pull over 1g. Even some 1st gens!
