Fixing housings

Has anyone ever tried to fix a housing with somthing like jb weld?? lol, well i had to beautiful housings but on has a small chip on the end below the exhuast port, so with filed it down and filled it with jb weld and scraped it smooth after it dried, it is going to be used in a streetport engine with carbon apex seals, i wonder if it is going to hold..........

Mike,

There are several threads where Scalliwag, and I think maybe glassman, were both working with several aerospace coatings in an attempt to use plasma spray coatings to "revamp" and old houseing. not to sure how far along they got, but if you pull up scalliwags avatar, and look at this posts I think you will be surprised at his progress. there was somebody else also but can't remember name.

cheers

its not relaly all that minor lol, it was pretty damn deep lol, and its closer to the bottem so i thought it would effect the performance, so we will see how the jb weld will hold up in a week or so lol

I know a guy who put jb weld on the cylinder walls of his snowmobile, it had a deep scratch and the jb weld was still holding on after a season of use
I wouldn't put much faith in it holding on in a rotary but you never know.
