Yeah, God forbid an FD was ever made reliable and got better gas mileage while making more power...

More reliable? That depends how you look at it. My car makes over 10hp per cubic inch and ran the same motor for a whole season. Can you make 3500 hp from a 350 and run it all season.

I remember jim back from the big list and he was never able to reach the desired HP level and reliability he needed. Some of us were able to, so we did not feel the need to make the swap he did.

But I did manage to use a th350 trans and a ford nine inch so I guess there is a little jim in all of us

I can justify this because In my eyes what makes a RX7 a RX7 is the rotary powerplant it makes us all feel special, wich we can all relate too so i will neveer give mine up. It is in my blood forever!!!!

Your engine makes more than 1,600 horsepower? Fascinating. You do realize that a 13B displaces 160 CID when compared to a 4-stroke piston engine, right?

So, do you have a dyno sheet of your 800+ horsepower beast to share?

Correction, makes you feel special...

Jim, your WAY out of your league. Don't even try to hate. Crawl back into your hole and find another ill informed member to pick on cause your climbing into a bee hive.

last years dyno, it is making a little more power this year. Don' want to get into a pissing match on engine size that has never gotten anywhere.

Hmmm...I just prefer the cornering abilitys of my car, and the rotors. Who cares about the 1/4 when you got miles of turns...

Jim, stop being an ***. jealousy is a terrible thing. the car flamin roids is talking about is everything he was saying it is and then some. the thing is when you get into that high of horsepower and something is not right, it makes a bigger difference. we all know your car isn't that fast, so why are you trying to call bs? i have seen the timeslips from this car and he just got into 9.8's with it. he is learning with it just like all of us and will only continue to get faster.

Sorry, but pointing out to someone claiming 10+ horsepower per cubic inch with a rotary that they have to double the displacement for it to be comparable to a 4-stroke piston engine has nothing whatsoever to do with jealousy.

the car flamin roids is talking about is everything he was saying it is and then some.
Great, but that was never questioned.

we all know your car isn't that fast, so why are you trying to call bs?
What does any of this have to do with my car?

Good. Now, go work on your reading comprehension and practice minding your own ******* business.

Jeez, maybe I should work on my own reading comprehension. I logically assumed that I was still being attacked for "hating on Demetrios", but after reading the post again today, I discovered that Mr. Day Late-Dollar Short was attacking me for hating on the wonder car from Utah that his pal the Flaming Hemhorroid loves so well. An exchange that ended a couple days ago, I might add. Well, better late than never, I suppose.

Did you have anything else to add, Mr. Yodaddy?

I can't believe I am actually going to respond to this but oh well my car is in the paint shop and I have a little more time on my hands

Jim using your math I am still at 5hp per cubic in, a major accomplishment still ecspecially in the domestic world. I know this as I do not limit myself to just import and rotary's I help crew a 10.5 inch outlaw car that has a 600 cu in Gene Fulton Motor with three stages of nitrous wich runs 4.90 in the 1/8 and low 7's in the quarter. The car I am working on now is a 500 cu in twin turbo charged pro mod that I may end up driving so I have a little experrience with tuning, turbo system design and motors in general.

You though I would not even be able to produce a dyno sheet and I did, old one at that and instead of apologizing and recognizing the accomplishment you continued to act like a big dick.

Well let me get to the point. You enjoy your swap but are very defensive about it. This was displayed with your statement "that abel's car is not a Rx-8/RX-7 cause it has a domestic rear end etc etc" probaply because everyone says your car is not a RX-7 cause it has a V-8 in it. What I think is a good test of wether or not your car is a RX7 is if you can run in any pro classes in a sport compact event, and in your case the answer is no that is why most people think your car is not a RX7. What you have to realize is this is a RX7 forum so if you do not like the slack you get about your swap you can always go some place else. This does not give you a free ticket to rack up close to 8000 posts being a huge dick to everyone on this forum that does perform well with the rotary engine. Especially considering since this is a RX7 forum chances are most people in here have rotary motors.

Demetrios

P.S

Where is your dyno sheet and how does it compare amongst your peers in the domestic world?

At least I can spell "loser" correctly.

So if I'm a dick to make myself feel better, what are you for feeling the need to make this post? At least I stand on my own and don't need others to dogpile on someone before I feel brave enough to post my opinion... poosy.

You probably should have found something else to occupy your time with.

Jim using your math
It's not my math. Many governing bodies in competitive racing consider the 1.3 liter rotary to displace 2.6 liters. When calculated using the same 2 rotations of the crankshaft that piston engines use, the displacement doubles. If you prefer, though, we can just rate piston engines using the rotary method and cut the displacement in half. Same difference.

I am still at 5hp per cubic in, a major accomplishment still ecspecially in the domestic world.
Good for you. A 900+ horsepower 3.0 liter 2JZ-GTE would also produce 5 horsepower per cubic inch. A 500 CID NHRA pro stock engine produces ~1,350 horsepower naturally aspirated which works out to about 2.7 horsepower per cubic inch, yet would kick both your asses in a quarter mile. Save your horsepower per displacement bragging for someone who doesn't know how meaningless it is.

I know this as I do not limit myself to just import and rotary's I help crew a 10.5 inch outlaw car that has a 600 cu in Gene Fulton Motor with three stages of nitrous wich runs 4.90 in the 1/8 and low 7's in the quarter. I guess you'd better if you're going to make a succesful living at it, huh?

You though I would not even be able to produce a dyno sheet and I did, old one at that and instead of apologizing and recognizing the accomplishment you continued to act like a big dick.
I should apologize for asking to see a dyno sheet? OK, whatever. I'm sorry I asked to see your dyno sheet.

It has nothing to do with my car. Saying that Mustangs are the quickest and fastest cars in the world because John Force's funny car is shaped like one is equally stupid. Are you telling me that you can't tell the difference between a production RX-7 and Abel's RX-7 shaped drag car?

What I think is a good test of wether or not your car is a RX7 is if you can run in any pro classes in a sport compact event, and in your case the answer is no
Once again, this has nothing to do with my car. BTW, the Pro import classes allow RWD Hondas and Eclipses... so much for your argument.

that is why most people think your car is not a RX7.
And yet again, this isn't about my car. You know, I'm actually disappointed to find out that you're just a punk with an axe to grind like everyone else posting in this thread. I expected better of you, for some reason. Oh well.

What you have to realize is this is a RX7 forum so if you do not like the slack you get about your swap you can always go some place else. This does not give you a free ticket to rack up close to 8000 posts being a huge dick to everyone on this forum that does perform well with the rotary engine.
It doesn't? Maybe my donations to the forum do. I'm sure we can find something that authorizes me to be a huge dick if we look hard enough.

Especially considering since this is a RX7 forum chances are most people in here have rotary motors.
That's right. It's an RX-7 forum, and what do I own? Thanks for playing, sorry you couldn't be a winner.

The outcome was inevitable, if that makes you feel better.

That's good to know. I'll file that away under "don't care" for safe keeping.

Yeah, whatever.

The pleasure will be all yours, I'm sure.
