If you are talking street cars, then my guess would be The Hitman.

friend of mine ran 11.1 with motor and just nos (100 shot)

I guess I might as well share the setup we did.

12A Full Bridge Port
Huge Exhaust Port
Webber 48 Downdraft
Webber 48 Manifold
Racing Beat Header
NOS 100 shot Dry

One of my friends friend just ran a 12a with No NOS or Turbo and ran 12.9 at the pan nats but that was in a different chassis. That just gives you the idea of how much you can pull out of the 12a motor.

And I was seriously thinking of swapping a V8 in too. I well think of how much power you could draw outta the V8 for that much money. I cant seem to justify spending $1300 for pineapple to do the porting plus I have to get the engine down there. All that hassel for 35hp?

as far as pricing goes, everything was done for less than $2000 and you get to tell that v8 swapped fool that you just waxed his *** with 1.2 litres. The Judge is damn near 8 seconds with his RX3 drag car! Bridge Port NOS. Read the best bang for the buck thread

I have run 10.32 @ 133

I think Romeos car is the quickest out there with an OEM box and its run 10.1.

Phils green car (Green 1st gen running 9.3) I don't think should count as the quickest 1st gen because it has a jerico. If we want to get into drag cars, I think there are a few 1st gens in PR doing 8s? I know we have had 2 1st gens run high 8s over here....

What kind of rear end you guys using on these 1st gens to get into the 9's and 10's??? Also how long does the transmission out of a 1st gen last??? If you guys have replaced them what was the replacement?

I have a friend building a high hp 79 that has the rear end from a 85. I'm thinking he will prob need to change the trans and rear. He'll prob be running 500rwhp.

Thanks,
STEPHEN

Well it depends if he will be running slicks and drag racing. If he won't be running slicks, he might be okay with the 85 back end.

If he will be drag racing, he will need something alot stronger.

My diff is a Borg Warner, which is similar to a chevy 10 bolt I believe. Axles are 31 spline billet, centre is 4.10 LSD and tailshaft is 3.5 inch diameter with 9 inch yokes or something else rather large. It cost me a bomb but came with 12 months warranty including the use of slicks

Damn, thats sounds pretty damn expensive lol

I is for drag racing with slicks and also street driving. We havent even looked real close but would something like a Ford 9" fit back there with a little massaging????

What transmission are you running???

Thanks for the info!!!

Don't get a 9 inch! Too big and is complete overkill unless you are shooting for low 9s!

I use a T2 transmission

I have a 9in in my car and it works fine, fits with no massaging, and a hell of a lot cheaper than a borg warner and i dont have to worry about breaking it!.
