Extra Rotors? Can I?

I was looking at my 12a today, and the "block" looked just like two housings put together...

So I was wondering... could I get another housing (and of course some other stuff, like new ignition crap and I'm sure some fabrication) and bolt it on? have three rotors, maybe 4 ....
If this is right someone please tell me, that would be awesome, has anyone done it?

thanks

more to it than just slapping more housings toghether. Your gonna need a custom excentric shaft for 1 then your gonna need a cusotm intake manifold, custom header, and the list goes on. If you really want a 3 rotor theres always the 20b but those swaps can be very exspencive

Thanks, I knew there was a lot to do, I just wanted to know if it was possible.
And If anyone has ever done it, and if it would be cheaper than getting a 20b, maybe better?

Don't know.

Thanks

haveing a custom fuel rail is damn expensive, if you are planning to add more rotors. I try to see how much one would coast to just add 2 more injectors on, and it was nuts! I have seen a 6 rotor engien before, it was for a freak'n plane but I think it would be possilbe to put something like that in like a drag car or something like that

Ted, let's not be too hasty.........

OK, no.

It's been done, but I'd guess there's a reason that there aren't a grip load of them running around.

But here's a link that might interest you....

Well, this is my assumption...
Yes, it's been done - Scoot silver FD comes to mind...
The people that can do this job would not question if they can.
Which means...the original poster does not have all the resources in-hand to tackle such a project.
So, my terse reply: No.

At minimum, you need a custom e-shaft or a coupler to mate both engines.
Then you need a custom computer to control everything unless you go carbs.
At the very least, you're talking about custom fabrication work that can easily go into the thousands (USD).

So basically all the expense of installing a three rotor, plus fitment, front suspension, and the expense of fabricating parts. Yeah, it sounds like something that'd make me go broke really fast.......

custom e-shaft, an intake could be weld frabricated w/ finish machining, peripheral port would be easy to do an intake for.... exhaust would be weld fabricated too. and then the fitment issue. the fuel can be taken care of using aftermarket injectors/computer (microtech comes to mind... the full package- ignition coils and fuel injectors) would could have a four rotor using STOCK ignition and STOCK fuel injection, and the e-shaft would only have lobes that seperated at 90 degree angles... im just rambling here... use your imagination.... you could set it up many ways. im done.

3rotor

I myself have a 3 rotor made up of 13b bits and pieces (cheaper than 20b stuff)
I know a guy that makes up 3 and 4 rotor crankshafts. Easy 1000hp from a 4 rotor

Really? Cool, is he on this site so I might contact him, If I ever strike it rich I want a 4 rotor. never happen, but if I learn how to do it, maybe I'll learn more about wankel engines.

Thanks

A 4 rotor seems like it would be easier than a 3 rotor. Using 2 modified intakes/exhausts and 2 throttle bodies/igniter assemblies/CPUs. Timing would be simplified if each pair of housings was matched so that the first and third rotos fired together, etc. The hard part would probably be the ecentric shaft and supplying adaquate coolant and oil pressures. The carb version would be even easier. (4 delortos or dual quads would be pretty fuel hungry though.)
