All the lost HP goes into heating the fluid and tranny parts, at a certain point a tranny cooler is a good idea. Unless you LIKE baking the trim on your center console.

Would you not care if you put 400 hp to the tires, yet your engine made 2000 hp? You'd certainly be interested in minimizing your drivetrain losses.

ok, but are you gonna pull your motor just to see what your drivetrain loss is? i'm not. and no one else is either. it was a good point but it's not getting us anywhere. i can tell you one thing tho, a friend of mine dyno'd his stock Z06 at 357hp at the wheels. i think it came to something like 12% loss.

Plenty of racer's do it. If it wasn;t important, why would engine brake dyno's exist?
