Congrats to Reactive Racing in the mid 7s now - 7.6

I spoke to Dee tonight and just found out that he went 7.6. Just wanted to give some props to a guy that started the year in the 8s and each event improved and improved and now in the mid 7s. It's something a lot of the die hard rotary guys can appreciate.

It takes a lot of dedication to make events all the way in St Louis and then drive down to Florida and run 7.6 on your 2 days off while managing a home a family and a full time 40 hour a week job.

Sometimes I think its hard to get these rotaries to run consistent and make good HP and hold together but these guys make it look really easy. From Dee, to John Duarte, to crispeed and the guys at T and R just to name a few... there are a lot of guys on this forum that deserve some praise.

To see these guys out there running hard makes everyone want to work harder and get your car to the track. This weekend at Atco, John D was out there running. As soon as I got home I started working on my car lol to try to make the next event too rather than just sitting there and watching.

Guys, Keep up the good work and keep getting faster lol.

Thanks,

Anthony

Big congrats to DEE!
It's kinda sad that I saw DEE drive in front of me about half a dozen times on the return road but was to buisy helping a friend with his car to even say hello.
When I got the time it was too late.
It takes a lot of dedication to campaign a car at the level, performance and success Dee is doing. Out of all the mazda's running that weekend in his class his was the most impressive not to mention that he's probably got the least experience of the bunch. His performance just got better run after run especialy on a difficult track like Moroso.
Hope to see you at Bradenton next weekend. That's the track regarded by most in FL to be the best.

Hey Ernie,

Man, I got a lot of updates for you. I ran the car this past weekend at the NHRA Fall Nationals in the Sport RWD Class.

I qualified number 4. Before the event the car made 525HP on 22-23psi with a 10.5 AF Ratio. I figured that would be good enough for now.

With the first pass to qualify, I just wanted to make it down the track and make sure the car was stable on the new tires. I rolled out the hole and ran a 12.1@124MPH with a 2.5 60ft time. The car was stable and it felt nice on top. Im using the Innovative wide band but when I checked the datalog, something was wrong with the sensor. Turns out that I had the sensor too close the turbo and it is no good anymore.

Ok, so I know Im going to be in the finals for Sunday so I decide to hammer the car now. I lower the tire pressure to 10psi from 20psi before. I ran 20psi just to make sure the car was stable since I just replaced the stock suspension with tokicos.

Anyway, I launched the car on the limiter and snapped the rear. That night I took the rear out with the help of a few friends. The KAAZ was perfect but I broke a lot of teeth on the main gear. I spent all night fixing it and made it on time on Sunday for the finals. I also decided to run some more boost so I turned the wastegate spring all the way in. (did not have a boost controller)

Now it gets better! I take the car off the trailer and all is ok. I decided to test the car in the parking lot of Etown just in 1st and 2nd so make sure all is ok. When I hit 2nd the boost gauge hit over 35psi so fast and by the time I let off, the motor was hurt. I did not have the overboost control in the TEC3 on.

I stayed and enjoyed the event but was pissed. I watched Sean Ivey break with a 26sec pass (normally runs 9s) and I watched the 9sec suburu make a 12sec pass after bogging in the hole.

That night when I got home I took the car in the garage and worked on it all night. When i pulled it apart the front rotor blew. the housing is shot and the rotor is gone. Luckily I have spare parts from the motor I bought in Maryland. I am building the new motor tonight and should be running tomorrow but I have a long list of things I need to upgrade/fix before running the car again.

That's the whole story!!!

Thanks, but you would not believe how easy it is to take a motor out that has a single turbo and a TEC3. If I could do it in my garage, anyone could do it. I bought the rotary aviation tape and follow that step by step when building, you really cannot miss anything if you pause the tape and follow everything they say. As a very very inexperienced builder, it takes me the most amount of time speccing the parts and clearancing everything, but if you just have to go back in and change the apex seals or springs, its a lot lot quicker.

Hi Anthony....sorry to hear about your FD.
Just take your time and check and double check everything when you get it running. Your effort and sweat will pay off......Look at Dee:-)

Congrats to Dee again.
I admire the hard work and dedication he has put into that car.
Good Luck Dee.

<What's ol' john d running these days? I haven't heard him post any times lately.>
Well, I really haven't been to the track for the lack of a roll cage. Etown has booted me everytime and they started to get mad.

I ran 11.3 @ 130mph @ Atco on Nittos w/ horrible traction for the Pan American event.
Then I went to Etown Friday night and after driving past Dee's trailer I decided to stop by and congradulate him.....we chatted for awhile.
Later on I staged.... made 1st pass.......10.8 @ 127mph on Nittos w/ 1.56 60ft!!!!
2nd pass...raised the boost and bogged of the line....11.1 @ 128mph
3rd pass....roasted the tires off the line..... and on the way to get my timeslip they said..."you're done for the night, go to the tower" and no time slip !!!!
So, no idea what it ran on that last pass.

Atleast I'm not the only one getting yelled at. Seems like you've got the mph for some fast passes I can't beleive you're hooking up that good with Nittos. My old nittos sucked ***.
