Comp Oil Springs

What are the benefits of using the "Competition" Oil Control Ring Springs?

The only thing I can see them doing is increasing the wear on the side plates. It doesn't increase the contact area/pressure of the O-rings...

When I had them side-by-side as a quick comparison, I could find no differences.&nbsp I did not do a spring rate test on them.&nbsp They wear just as quick as the stock units.&nbsp I chalk it up to "unnecessary" expense.
