What are you talking about? Ceramic brake pads? You need to specify.

In relation to the iron/aluminum/w/e material the stock apex seals are made from, any ceramic will be much, much stronger than them.

GG chatter marks?

You think people would give away thier compositions for thier apex seals?

Why not call up Atkins and ask them for thier recipe

Various seals have been tried, among them, those made of Si3N4 (silicon nitride), SiC (silicon carbide), alumina (Al2O3), zirconia (ZrO2), TiC (titanium carbide), and TiC-graphite composition (titanium carbide graphite composition).

Of those, TiC 15wt% graphite composition has the lowest wear rate. The TiC-graphite compositions overall have self-lubricating characteristics and exhibit superior sliding characteristics.

Yes. The R26B used Si3N4.

ceramics are anti frictional, they are no stronger than the base they are made out of, they will last a fair bit longer but they will break just like any seal will if you detonate hard enough.

well then you need to do some homework, people don't do research and development for other people to steal their ideas and make a buck off it themselves at their own loss.

this thread has little to do with the second gen RX7, it should have been opened in the general section.

No offense, but if you plan on making seals, you shouldn't have to ask these questions.

I got my info from

R & D on Functional Structural Ceramics (Application to Sliding Parts)
Nippon Steel Technical Report No. 59 October 1993; pages 37-43

You obviously have no idea how much R&D goes into designing a seal. Its more than just copying the shape.

I hope everyone is taking notes on exactly how to NOT develop a product. I mean I spent 4 years doing R&D, prototype development and extensive testing when all I had to do is come on here and ask you guy's how it's done! If the guy can't even afford a set of ceramic seals, we should trust him to make them for us?

Maybe you should get into Police work. You can run down the street, point at a house and say the bad guy's are in there.

Hey Betty Crocker, go back to school, get your GED, pick up an easy bake oven and start pumping out the ceramic seals. I'm sure the masses will be lining up to buy them from you.

If you guy's want a serious quality product designed and developed with the best materials and processing you know where to find me.
