My engine builder uses them in his drag FD that runs low 8s. Good enough for him, good enough for me

Please do not mount the 13B-RE
It's tempting though, very nice.
You getting brand new plates too?

Going for 500rwhp on pump gas and maybe 20psi. Won't be putting race fuel in this one.

The HP goal is the same as the last engine but it will make the same peak HP, but have more power earlier than with the big TA turbo!

Well thats the plan anyway

If the 3mm seals provide any additional "strength" i.e. resistance to detonation effects, it is minimal. The only reason rebuilders use 3mm seals is to allow them to reuse rotors. The groove that the apex seal sits in becomes worn, so they make it a bit larger, and put the 3mm seals there. It works fine, saves a bit of money, etc...but they don't do it because they're stronger.

Nah no other changes.

Sticking with the twin plate clutch, same injectors and intercooler. Following on from A777s lead, I might try and get a 4 inch dump pipe off the turbo, will throw the idea around this afternoon while I am at the shop!

Also going to change the rear muffler to something a little quieter. At the moment its 107db at idle

WOOHOO!

Engine is back together!

Phone is a Nokia 6310!

Vosko - I made 500+ on pump fuel and 22psi with BUR9EQ and 7EQs, you don't need race plugs!

moprblms - Twin plate is an RE Amemiya one I believe, T2 tranny and 4.10 LSD gears

2mm seals actually seal better than the 3mm ones. The 3mm seals might hold up to detonation better, but if your motor is tuned and your gas is good, there shouldn't be detonation anyways.
