bridge ported working 6-port???

can a good street/strip engine be built using a bridge ported 92 6-port with a weber 51 on a dellorto upper intake manifold , wile using functional staged 6-ports to keep some low end mid power???

just wondering if it will work, or do the sleeves have to come out to get more intake flow into the engine?

shooting for 265hp range; you guys think it will work?

6 port bridge

if you don't want to lose the bottom end at all, just cut the bridge eyebrow only
at the aux port.Ive built a 6 port bridge even though I was told it would not work.I was very happy with the results.Your big problem will be hitting 265hp with the aux actuators in.The 6 port I ran was and early (84-85) 13b so your 92
will have larger primary ports,I was in the 230 hp range but kept the ports somewhat reasonable for the street.losing the aux actuators wont kill bottom end as much as you think. If you keep your heavier flywheel it helps with the lack of low power.the aux port should have a ramp built like the other ports at the end where the actuator stops,if you do not bridge the primaries it will help with drivability and low throttle response.call up rotary power in cali, one of the guys there was talking about building a bridge 6 port for his rx3 and I believe armyofone on the no pistons forum is running one two.I dont know about the carb though,I am partial to holleys on n/a rotaries,265 with n2o or a full bridge is doable but you might have to keep searching for someone who has done it while keeping the aux ports operational.hope this helps,

ps half brige(secondaries only)with a ramp built in the aux port, street port primaries, and a properly tuned holley is kick in the pants will minimal drivability
lost as long as the ports are done properly.......

Ito,

I've read some of the "kills" posted by army of one.So you set his up with operating aux port actuators? If I remember right you set his up full bridge.
Fill us in I'm interested for future reference.

Oh yeah....bluem listen to ito he is the man,I have him and lynn hannover to thank for helping me bypass the trial and error blues.

If you want low end and mid range power, a 4 barrel carb will work better. A big 2 barrel gives great top end power, but not as good low end and mid range power.

My engine does not have functional aux ports. I am running a Racing Beat holley intake. I do have to thank Ito for helping me set up the Holley. I found out that driveability depends more on the fuel curve than it does on the type of porting. The engine was well behaved for a bridgeport and had more than enough power to keep you entertained.

By using a 4 barrel carb and manifold without a common plenum, the engine can run on the 2 primary carb ports and 2 primary intake ports at part throttle low and mid rpm conditions, and it will have higher port velocity and higher venturi velocity, and it will run smoother at low rpms than a big 2 barrel carb feeding all 6 ports all the time.

BTW, I am running a 1.25" open plenum on my setup. But the Holley allows you the tuning flexibility to make it work right. Just make sure all of your stuff is properly port matched. It makes a very big difference in driveability.

Just to give you an idea. The car made 178hp with a 3" straight through muffler before the plenum and some ignition work. It made 225hp open header with a plenum.

Unless you want to take a look at the Barry Grant Demon Carbs 2 barrel carburators? I think I saw a 675 in the lineup.
