Best Engine-turbo Setup???

Hi everyone,

What is the best way to build a rotary?
I know it kind of depends on its application.

I know that 13B-REW (Twin Turbo) is quite a good daily-driver setup as it is very responsive. I know that if you want moreee power probably above 400hps at the flywheel then that might be beyond the capacity of stock/aftermarket twins. In that case you will have to go single.

What about N/A rotary?
N/A 13B?
N/A 20B?
I heard a few race or drift car probably has N/A 20B what is the benefit? Immediate response to keep the car going in the middle of a drift?
Possible to drop the turbo(s) and tune it like a high reving car? with reliability?
I better not mention about fuel consumption cos then you guys will say don't go with rotary ;o)

What about.. twin turbo of the size of 2 large single turbo? Haha beyond the ability of rotary to push them?

I tried to search but couldn't find anything directly on the point, maybe i didn't pick the right keywords, point me to a link if it has been discussed. Thx guys!

Ric

First what is YOUR car going to be doing? Drift, Autox, Drag? As soon as decide what your going to do then that would help out a lot.

As for the the 20b if you could afford to have one in your car alot of people would envy you.

As for the 13b n/a theres not a lot of aftermarket for them but it would be a great beginner car for drift and auto x.

Hi rx73rotorj,

First of all, mine is a street car so there is not much point raising this topic for myself.

However I would like to hear general discussion about the distinctive characteristics, features and uses for each different setup (13B n/a, 13B single, 13B twin, 13B tri and more? 20B n/a, 20B single, 20B twin, 20B tri and more? Maybe comment about the potential of 12A and other rotary engines that I am not aware of). So we can all build an all-rounder! : D

there's really no point to this if there's no central point to discuss. every rotary engine has a monster inside waiting to be released. money, knowledge and goals are what make the differences between them.

if you just want general information, go to each relevant section of the forum (Gen I, II, III and 20B) and read the FAQs of each. you will get all you need and you will not be able to fill yourself in a day. trust me.
