The best BOV?

Does anyone know what the best BOV is? HKS, Greddy, Blitz, or what?

Look at Vortech they make the best BOV

It really depends on what your application is and how deep are your pockets. Personally I like the Vortech Mondo BOV and their new Race version they released early last year. These BOV have some huge valves to relieve more pressure that we can throw at a Rotary Engine.

Sounds - GReddy: shrill, sometimes sneeze
Blitz = fludder
HKS - a **** thingy
There are more, but I don't know the rest. It's all in personal preferences.

I have the HKS SSBOV and it flutters and causes compressor surge at low boost 1 - 2 psi.

VERY annoying and would not buy one again. Several have complained about this.

Not sure what makes it do this in the car.

you just made me second guess switching from my blitz to the ssbov...
who else has complained about this it seems to be a superior valving system but maybe im wrong! did you wear it in? sometimes when new they get sticky so a lil atf cures the problem.

Nah, it is brand new. I mean maybe the SSBOV is a better valve...maybe it does the BOV part best.

Just that compressor surge is annoying. But it is just at low boost 1-2 psi.

it does this because of the low psi. a bov works off of vacuum and pressure. it opens when there is a change in pressure. if there isnt a huge change (read:1-2 psi to vacuum) it isnt going to open very wide. but on the up side, at 1-2 psi, commpresor surge is nothing more than a cool noise, it reall\y cant hurt anything at that low of a boost level.

HKS works well for moderate to high boost situations, and since I'm a ricer I like the sound. If you put enough boost through it, the TIAL BOV sounds awesome as well, and I believe it's one of the best flowing BOVs on the market. Just make sure you get the right spring for the TIAL, because they're not adjustable unless you swap out the spring.
