Well, you have a bunch of compressed air between the BOV (back near the compressor) and the throttle plates. When the BOV opens, that air is going to flow backwards through the piping and IC to exit at the BOV. Then you step on the gas again and the BOV closes and your turbo has the fight the back-flow of air (remember, air has inertia). I really have no idea if this is of any significance, but it does seem like a real possibility.

With the BOV near the throttle, the air is still moving forward the whole time -- it flows out the BOV or through the throttle depending on which one is open.

First of all your turbo doesnt have to fight flow. When you let off the gas your turbo still flows air.. the BOV doesnt throw out all the air, it just lets out pressure.

What is the best setup for a stock turbo, or the 99+ spec turbos. I will never be going with a big single, so holding large pressure won't be a big deal. I do like the sound, and would also like to get something slightly larger and more efficient than the stock BOV.
Any suggestions, or is it just a complete waste of my time?

There aren't any issues with it leaking or anything? And how easy is it to install, because of a lack of rotary shops around here, I'll be doing this myself ...

Ok, how much are you boosting??? those who say it leaks just dont know how to adjust it....I wouldnt worry about it unless you are boosting 22+ then its time for the typeR or got something of that sort that can let all that air out in time....

I run 17+lbs of boost and I have never had a problem with the Type S. BTW The turbo is a T78.
