Aeromotive Fuel pump controller?
Have any of You Guys running the Aeromotive 1000 N fuel pump used the Fuel pump controller they sell P/N 16302. I was going to run the pump with a switch in the car supplying power direct from the bat. with a relay. This piece looks like it would work great but sometimes things dont work as good as they look. Can someone give Me some info on this or any other product that works the same?
Thanks

That thing does what you just said as its main function. It reduces the voltage by 20% below your RPM setpoint, above your setpoint it runs battery voltage direct. It can handle 25 A continuously. It has a manual bypass switch function, you should not need a relay, unless you want to completely bypass the gadget. Basically it does with solid state what the FD fuel system does with relays, resistor and solenoid.
I just e-mailed their tech support last week to get these answers. They answered quickly and in-depth.

Nope. I'm using my dump pump setup you saw in the Project thread. See Bottom of Page 1

Yes, it works very well. I am using one with my aeromotive pump and my buddy has supra and is running the controller and an areomotive pump. It also helps to quiet the pump down at idle.

I'm trying to remember how i did it. I used the haltech relay to signal the controller on. Aeromotive recomends using 10ga. wire for the pump and I think the haltech wiring was only 12ga. The controller unit has several hookups, It has 1 output for running a pumps(PMP), 1 power source for the pump(BAT), 1 ground(GND), 1 signal to turn the pump on low speed(PWR), 1 rpm signal to switch to high speed(PNT), 1 override switch for high speed(SWT). I didn't use the rpm signal. I hooked the haltech relay to PWR. Then setup one of my outputs on the haltech to auxilary fuel pump. Now that is just a pull to ground and the controller requires a power signal to switch so I ran that through another relay to convert that signal to power and hooked it up to the SWT.Then I setup the output on the haltech to change over at 3000 rpm. If that seems too complicated just let me know I could probably explain it a little better if I had more time to think about it.

TYSON, I am from Alberta. Could YOu PM Me with info on where You picked up the controller. The place I ordered My parts from does not carry it. Let us know when You get that beast going, I am interested to see what kind of power and spool it will have. I went with a T-72 BB as the price of the GT-42 is BIG.
