The 3.8 Camaros are about as quick as 4.6 Mustangs. That was the joke at the time, that the base model Camaro was quicker than the Mustang GT. I severely doubt that a stock GXL can be nearly that quick...

I used to murder both in my 86 N/A. the 3.8 is garbage on the street, I've had 4.3l pickup trucks give me a better run than all of the v6 camaros I've run. And non-vtec hondas are even slower. If you're anywhere near a decent driver you should take them both.

I've taken a late 90's V6 F-Body in my ex's Auto prelude. Both autos, both manually shifting, beat him by a fender.
As a side note, I've raced my friends 90 GTU (manual) in the same prelude and was eaten alive.
...that is all...

It depends what year civic. I had a CRX for a while. it was nonvtec. i had intake and exhaust. my buddy in his gxl has a lot of bolt-ons. i beat him no problem. And you should have no prob against a v6. there slow.

CRX's are actually pretty cool IMO. They are so light and can run lower 16's bone stock which is great for a 1.6L. I've seen a guy with nothing but weight reduction done to it running high 15's. Some of the street ported 12a's be running that much at the track which is pretty sad.

I took my CRX to the track the weekend after i got it. I took it to test out how fast it was before i started moding it. It was bone stock and i didn't know how to drive it yet on a horible track. I ran a 15.9.

Now just imagine a GSR motor in that car with nothing but intake and exhaust done to it. That's going to be a one reliable 14's daily driver that gets great gas mileage.
I think ricers are giving their own cars bad names...hondas can actually be made pretty quick and more reliably quick than other cars..cough*rx7*cough.

I call a bunch of BS on the low 16's for stock CRX...bc I straight smoked a crx qwith weight reduction and a b16a swap with header intake, short throw, and full ehaust... I have only been beaten by one CRX and that was an H22A turbo charged... and that only ran 14.6... and as for the V6 camarslow...dont worry you could whoop his *** in reverse.... lol.... no ****...

a crx with a turbo h22A sould be running squarely in the thirteens if not the 12's. if it only ran 14.6 it is either horrorendously tuned, has a shity driver, or both.
a freind of mine was running high 13's in a crx with a b16 only modded with a full exhaust, which doest free up that much on those engines anyway..
but i thik youde be about even , maybe a little behind on a v6 camaro. its like 200 hp for late 90's 3800, but those things weigh like 3400-3500. so hes a good bit heavier.

I can't remember what model my friend has but he has a vert Camaro (newer of course...somewhere just before 2k I think it was...maybe 2k)), but I know when I checked the numbers it was freaking disgusting. 0-100km in the low 9's (so say 8's) that's the numbers for my Nissan NX1600...that's just not right. But of course it depends on what model they bought I don't remember the power numbers for the car but I remember it being around 160 or so (of course much more tq). Anyway I took the car out and it was some of the worst time I've spend behind the wheel of a vehicle STOOPID SLOW and it was so damn big it was scary! I hope the other guy has a different model, but if not feel free to suck the paint off his car.
