Talking 550rwhp FC look!

Hello all, I'm ready to move up. Please no "search flames", I want the most up to date current info possible. I want to put 550 to the rear wheels. I am not a clueless newbie, and my current set up is dialed. I am looking for a turbo for a road race car which sometimes sees the strip. I'm thinking T66, oil and water cooled, undivided, bb, .81ar q trim. what do you think? I hope to just "bolt on" I may need a second external pump w/surge tank, we will see. Current set up makes 440 rwhp.
here is my current set up;
1988 TII
13BREW W/88 PLATES STREETPORTED
TO4S .60 COMP./.81EXH. 3.5" VBAND
CAST UNDIVIDED MANIFOLD
E6K
720/1600 INJECTORS
BOSCH PUMP(NEED TO CHECK WHICH ONE)
-6AN FUEL LINES
HKS FMIC
HKS RACING BOV
DUAL STOCK OIL COOLERS
HUGE GRIFFIN CUSTOM RADIATOR
CUSTOM 3.5" EXHAUST

I am suprised that no one out there has input on this thread. Anyone making 550 or better at the wheels? If you are what does your dyno look like? Are you limited to drag racing, or do you have some rpms to play with? I'm looking for a turbo that hits full boost around 4k, and pulls through 7k. Any vendors want to step up? lots of vendors talk about these power levels, but few customers step up with results... What's up? Carl

i wish i could help you, but i'm still in awe of your setup. do you have any pics or a website? my brother's getting a rebuild in his fd and i was thinking about getting a tII and doing a swap with his old engine. good luck getting help, there's got to be someone around here that can help. hell, if correctly ported, and tuned a t78 might work.i dunno, just speculating.

If this is a road race car, just bridge port it. I don't know if your class would allow it, but that would put you up there. Also, maybe more boost and water injection. That is an awesome setup you have right now. Good luck hitting your goal.

Dude! Where are you at? Fairfield? Green Valley? I'm right here in Martinez, we gotta hook up. I want to check out you turbo setup. As for 550rwhp, it does'nt sound like your too far off. Turn up the boost, watch your injector pulse width and keep pumping more fuel into it. What boost are you at now?

as for bridge porting,I'd rather not open up a perfectly good motor. As for the t78, I think that there are turbos out there that will spool signifigantly faster, and ultimately make the same or better power. I am in Windsor,5 miles north of Santa Rosa. About 1-1/2 hours from martinez. Boost is currently 15psi. BUT this boost is only good for around 390hp. Car is backed off with regard to boost for reliability while road racing. I think 20 psi and fine tuning fuel will get me around 450-460. Car made 430@18psiand conservative fuel. no website, or pictures yet...Still looking for someone with the "magic turbo"... Regards, Carl

You can also look at getting a larger exhaust , that .81 is too small for 500whp .I to am looking for 500 + WHP from my FD so I got a T66 ( or T70 , it is actually larger than the TURBONETICS T 66 wheel so I am unsure ) with a 1.15a/r rear end , I also went with a half bridge ported race clearanced motor and all the supporting hard/software and water / methanol injection as an inscrance policy because I am hoping for 18 - 25 (30 ish)psi of boost , hope this helps .

T66, .81ar, Q trim too small? My buddies Supra makesover 700rwhp with that turbo... I just do not have any idea of how this relates to a 13b. Anybody out there, that is running a t66 on an rx7 want to share specsdynos etc?

Greg has access to a turbo that will make over 550 hp at 23 psi. Send him a PM and ask him about the PT63 or IPF-63, I can't remember what it's called. He was in the process of getting a kit together for it, manifold and all, but I think he can sell the turbo separately.
