2nd gen OMP on 3rd gen

I am trying to retrofit a 2nd gen omp on my 3rd gen motor. Does anyone have any pics or tips on how I'm supposed to mount the omp?

use a 13bt (s4) front cover and we can figure out the rest, i think i have all the **** as I had 3 fucked up 13bt (s4s) I might still even have the oil injectors though id recomend getting new ones. They are not too much.

Greg,

It will be interesting to see this work since a lot of 3rd Gen guys are running Haltech's. If you could get this to work, they'd be able to run Mechanical OMP AND a Haltech...hmmm...

This is not a new idea. There are a lot of people running mechanical OMP's on 3rd gens. I don't think it's neccessary to use a 2nd gen front cover either. **** it. I'm just gonna block it off for now till I can figure this out.

you can have mt front cover if you need the ****. plus i have a few omps laying around.

josh i was going to do the 87 omp, but i decided to just block it off until i got car up and running. if i figure it out before you, i will let you know. also, i have many extra pumps if you need them also.

The link is not working. I have an 88 pump. it looks like a couple of things just need drilled and tapped, but I don't want to ruin my front cover by drilling into something I'm not supposed to.

Greg- are you sure that your front cover will fit up to my block with no problems? It looks to me like I would have to at least change my CAS setup. i don't know if I feel like going through all of this. I have an appointment with KD Rotary next week for some dyno time. I will ask him then. He has done a **** load of these conversions and I'm sure he will have the answer I'm looking for.

you would josh. you cant retain the fd's cas.
talking to dave sounds like a good idea.

It worked this time. I've seen that page before. All that thing does is feed fresh 2 cycle oil to the OMP. It is not an adapter. It utilizes whatever system you are currently using. It sounds like a good idea, but it wouldn't be much different then premixing. You still have to fill up the resevoir every time you fill up with gas unless you have a huge resevoir. Personally, I am running out of room in my engine compartment.

Garfinkle s 2 cycle tank he made holds more than three qts , he has looked into using a mechanical pump in place of the elect, with an adapter for 2 cycle oil.Ido not know what he found out.
