13BT wont rev
I have a 13BT series 4 in a 1972 beetle stock turbo /intercooler etc
Exhaust = 63mm or inches who knows
Running a Microtec mtx 8 ECU with base program & modified program
Problem is she wont rev over 6K on .3 bar boost
and when i up the boost to .6 bar she only revs to 5K
I have checked compression and this seems to be +-on 90 PSI front and rear
I have even tried my ECU on a identical setup and that car C’s 8K on .6 bar no problem
What am I missing ???
The other car is also a beetle with a series 4 engine but he pushes 180 kw on the wheels at 7k rpm on .8 bar and revs cleanly to 9K
Where I only get 100kw on the wheels at 4.8k rpm with .3 bar and then the graph gets the shakes and drops to like 70kw at 5.4k rpm and well that’s as far as she goes
Same conversion same ECU same everything
Only thing I have noticed is his cars compression is 98-102 front and rear
Could it be that my apex seals are gone ?? and is causing by pass and …….
TIA for advise

Keep Right Except to Pass
What have you got for exhaust? I can't imagine how it could be related to compression, but I also can't imagine what could be boost-proportional like you describe.
Sorry, I thought I had replied to this but didn't realize there was another thread.

my exhaust is 63 soon to be 74
but i dont think that is the problem because she did C 8k on a 58 exhaust with .3 bar
but the problem was the 58 was holding boost at only .3 nothing over so i went to 63 now i can get 1bar if i want but no rpms stange i know and then to make things worse the higher the boost the lower the revs
SO i can boost anything higher than .3 and only get 5.5k anything lower than .3 and get upto 6.5k but verylittle power
I am hooking up the current lamda to the mtx 8 tonight or tomorrow maybe that will shine some light on the ......
who knows
