13b Rotor Housing Questions

I know that before 1985 all other the seals with in the rotor housing, and then after 1985 they went to putting them in the side plates, is there any way to use older then 1985 plates with newer then 1985 housings?

The GSL-SE rotor housings are cheaper than other 13B housings. Why not buy new ones?

Ya milling a new groove would defeat the purpose of the budget build so would buying new housings. I think i have found a preson with a good set of gsl-se housings anyways, thanks
