13B-RE Manifold Questions

Ok this is two seperate questions which would help me out greatly in getting my RE motor swap project underway.........

1) Does anyone happen to know the amount and sizes of the bolts needed to bolt up the RE manifolds back to the engine.....i found an RE engine i might buy but it is missing all of the bolts for the manifolds......

2) I found a set of RE manifolds for sale and am wondering if they would bolt up to an S4 block.....since i cant seem to find a decent RE engine that isnt missing bolts or some other parts i found a set of manifolds and am wondering if it would bolt up to my motor that i have now.....

what would be the pros and cons of bolting the RE manifolds to the S4 block if it is even possible? i would be rebuilding the S4 block and porting it as well

any help would be appreciated....

The bolts are standard metric mazda bolts, they are like m8 or m10 25-35mm long, you should be able to find them at any parts store that has metric stuff.

The re manifolds will bolt to the rew (fd) engine, they will not bolt to any of the previous engines without making an adapter, and it would have to be a pretty thick adapter to work.

hm thanks i guess but not to sound like a dick i figured they would be metric but how can i guess how long they will be? i just know from taking apart my manifold there was a few different sizes and one was really long that went thru the middle etc.....

and i didnt ask about the REW i said S4.....which would be a 13B Turbo block from an 87-88 Turbo car.....last time i checked thats what S4 or Series 4 refered to...i thought REW was from an FD and was considered S6

He knew exactly what you were asking, and you should read his response again. The RE intake manifold will ONLY bolt up to a FD engine. ALL other 13B's it will not bolt onto, not even close, so a adapter will be needed. Get a pair of $20 calipers and measure the depth of each bolt hole on the RE, then add 45mm to it, order the right sizes from Mc Master Carr. They are a M8 x 1.5 I think, but dont quote that. Hope that helps.

How do you measure the depth of a hole with calipers? From the outside? Forgive my stupidity... also why add 45 mm to your measurement?

I guess he was saying take the scale part of the caliper and measure inside the hole with that; not the calipers part?
