12A buildup

Ok, so, it's time for me to build a badass 12A to replace this 116k mile powerplant. So, basically, what i want to do is build it from nothing, i want to start with absolutely no parts, and build a dream engine basically. So, to start this project, i want to hear a few opinions, and i have a few questions. It's gonna be a carburated 12A, i'm set on side draft. I have questions about which rotors i should use. I want the highest comp ration i can squeeze in a 12A, but i've never heard of different compression rations in 12As a whole lot. I'm going to port this motor, maybe bridge port, or a ridiculously oversized streetport. It will be boosted eventually, but that'll be my absolute last step in this build. So, obviously, i'll be using the 3 window bearings, race oil pressure reg., atkins seals (corners/apex) and springs. So, any other little ideas, cool things you guys have wanted to try with a 12A, whatever, let me know, and we'll see what i come up with. In the end, i don't need much more than 500 horse. Don't tell me anything about drivetrain and all that stuff, i've got it undercontrol, and that's coming later. Alright, let the thinkers run wild boys and girls.

thanks for the time,
Neil Hemmingsen

500 HP from a turbocharged 12A, eh? well, it's been done before. i've read about them in Australia, moreso than here, but i did read about a 10-sec 12A-powered SE a few years back. he couldn't have been too far off that mark.

i think you've got some good ideas in your plan, but i also think you need to work on others. my guess is that if you're really serious, you'll start to see how much money and time this project will require. for the record, i'm not trying to **** on your dreams - lord knows i know how it feels when someone does that, but i've also seen many people with really lofty goals quit because of finance or lack of the REQUIRED dedication.

building the motor itself will be relatively easy - that's not my concern with your plan. however, i think that the protection of your hardware in 2006 should be trusted to nothing less than a very good EMS and capable tuner.

that's my input ...

i'm actually thinking no turbo, a centrifugal s/cer i think will be the plan. And, i want to keep it carburated for the extra power. My next car will be fuel injected. I am not worried about time or dedication. It's a project, it will take time, money, and patience...comes with the territory.

Ask Robert from rotary shack, he claims to have a 630 RWHP 12a.......He would know best if anyone........ I think his user name is 630RWHP12A to be exact....... Im not sure I dont deal with the man, I do all my work myself by trial and error. I have seen posts for, and against the man. But rumors and accusations aside. The knowledge he has of the 12a should be worth it weight in gold. Good Luck bro, I am skating the easy route and going with the 13B, the old saying goes......
NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT!
Good luck bro.....

you should use ceramic coated housings and ceramic apex seals.

ok, so i've decided on the supercharger i want to use. it's a 9" from procharger. model P-1SC, max flow (cfm) 1200, max boost 32psi. I think the oversized compressor should be able to handle the upper rpm's of a j-bridge motor. As for carb, i am thinking 51 dcoe. Can this carb keep up with a supercharger like that? Any other carb reccomendations? looking to get 500hp, and go up from there.
