12.6@116 in my FD (seq vs. non seq)

Well guys, over this last winter I whent from a seq turbo system to a non-seq system. I also added a HI-6...but I could'nt tell a difference with it on the car. But anyways here is the results with the same car, and basic mods.

Seq turbo system Non seq
60ft 2.188 2.184
330 5.687 5.591
1/8 8.524 8.305
MPH 89.09mph 94.16mph
1000 10.912 10.635
1/4 12.924 12.600
MPH 114.75mph 116.50mph

Here is a list of mods:
Downpipe
Midpipe
M2 intake
Efini Y pipe
m2 medium IC
Power FC@13psi

I realy need a cat back. I'm shure I could pick up a couple more mph. Bolth runs where on the same exact street tires. But anyways, I wish I could have had a couple more runs. I only got 3 runs from 9am to 3pm. This was the opening day of the track, as its been rained out every other weekend. Not to mention the track was realy slick. Yeah, I know, everyone allways says that. But they just put a new surface on the track out to the 1/8 mile. Later, CJ

you cant say that...dropping the clutch "drag race" style from stoplight to stoplight would get rather expensive.

A late launch would give him a slow reaction time, not a slow 60 ft time.

Good to see a comparision of the 2 turbo setups like that.

Buy some slicks and you should be able to run a high 11!

There are some "pants down" spots with the non seq when a lower gear is too much and the current one isn't quite enough. Just have to be a little more careful when picking fights on the street.

For the most part, I usually turn around a 2.10 to a 2.0 60ft time on these tires. I'm shure I could have cut it some with some more practice. 3 runs just is'nt enough. On that run, (my last for the day) I launched it at about 4,200-4,300. I tried to roll into the throttle, but instead ended up bogging the motor down to about 3,000rpms.

My goal at this point is to run some 12.1-12.0 on true street tires. No drag raidals, or slicks.

My first two rounds I got to race against a volkswagon bus, and a volkswagon pickup truck. It looked like a bus, but had fold down sides, and a tailgate.
It was'nt pretty seeing me slaughter them. Its not realy fair for me to race a 18.0 second car.

It does provide an idea of the effect of sequential v. nonsequential, three tenths and that's a big deal.

Good runs on street tires. If you find a true street tire that gets you to 12.0 or 12.1 be sure to let us know.
