Well, the most visible guy was Mike and he all but disappeared since. I spoke with Aron late 06 and Mike some time before then. I know there were some issues with the track and the guys, but I guess that no longer matters.

Yeah, Gateway was always out there in some form or another as a possibility. I don't know why it wasn't moved. The road course looks interesting, albeit rather simple.

If I can get in touch with Aron again, I can get the numbers and figure out where things went south. I know a lot of people registered but didn't pay as they were watching closely to the weather. That's all fine and good and that's where some of the changes would come in.

However, if this does start small, and I have no issues with that, then teaming up with the St Louis, Indy WI and Chicago folks is 1, a no brainer and 2, pooling resources to get it to happen. Instead of two guys being out thousands, it's a much better plan to have several being out only hundreds if not less.

If people want to restart the Revo, I am more than willing to put the effort into it. The shell is in place, I basically only need web assistance and a new development team. I even have new events.

Mike is done. He will not return to the Rx community although I plan to drive up to see him in March so who knows. The Revo was mentally, physically, and financially draining on both of us. You have no idea.

It could be done in 08. I have already lined up a drag strip from my attempts to restart the last two years. I had a location for autocross and additional timed events but I would have to verify that they are still available.

Sweet, now we might have something. Where do have them lined up at, Indy?

There are a few places, but Indy still offers the best combo for everything to be in the same proximity.

Glad you see you around and willing to help. How's Mike doing these days ?

Where would the location be, still at the same place as last time ?

I'd suggest setting up a paypal account for donations, I'd be willing to throw in a few bucks to help get this going. I'm sure other people would too.

Hey Aron...

Thanks for stopping in. Didn't mean to bug ya last night.

I'd love to hear what you have potentially lined up already. As far as the web site is concerned...I'll see what kind of resources we can pull locally. Do you still have a domain registered? I'm working with Damian on a little thing for our club. Perhaps he may be of some assistance for this project. I'll shoot him an email.

As far as the donations go...any way to bypass paypal, or otherwise be able to get an account somewhere that won't take service fees away? Granted paypal is the easiest way, I can't stand those fees.

Aron, regarding your locations and with the new management at [the former] IRP, is that still available for a track or is that possibility long gone?

I would definitely like to attend a rotary event in my home state. I was never able to attend Rotary Revolution with my FB, because I didn't get it done in time. I did go just to see everyone else's cars though. Despite the unbelievably freezing weather, I had a great time. Then RR was no more. If someone does organize this I would definitely attend, and be happy to help spread the word.

and YOU sir need to give me a chance to check out that 84 GSL with the 5.0 swap. I'm only about 2 hrs away in Richmond, IN. I'd like to have a chance to ride in one sometime, because I've thought about doing the swap when my 12A gives up the ghost. I saw yours on the V8 Rx7 forum, and looked through the pictures of your build. Very good work. Maybe I can bring Rosie up sometime this summer and we can shoot the bull.

How's that? Have you been making any advances in this event become a reality? If so I'm really looking forward to this. I wish you the best of luck in getting it organized and will help out in any way I can.

I'd be willing to help out if I can. I loved the RR events, and had a blast the last 2 years even though the weather screwed us over.

Hopefully things will be back on track for this event.

There is a new subforum on RX8Club for the Rotary Revolution. It was just created by Omicron.

Hey Aaron, good to hear from you! I know running these events was a nightmare for you both with what happened the last 2 years weather-wise. I can't believe you'd be willing to give it another run, haha!

But let me know what I can do. I could do an email dump from the database here if you wanted a big email list to send out info. I have some other ideas for web promotion too ... and IB might help as a sponsor, they've expressed some interest in supporting events.

I'm sure that's some things that have to happen before you commit, but I have some free time. I'd be able to help with phone calls and try to help you get some sponsors. I'd be willing to pitch in some $$$ to help make it happen.

I still say the first Revo was the coolest damn event of all time! Had the weather co-operated the next two years you'd have had something that would have lived on forever.

I stay quite for the most part. But just an idea. The v8rx7forum.com does a seven not stock now. Why couldn't the rx7 community get together with them to plan some events at the same time to increase the size of the events on both sides. I don't mean in the since of the gatherings, but the events themselves. There are those hardcore people on both sides but if there were seperate gatherings and common events I believe that could be a lot of fun.

Thanks

I'm behind this event as well. I got to go to the last one, and though I spent the majority of the time in my car due to the cold, I still enjoyed it greatly.

I agree, sevenstock is great, but i feel that we should have something similar on the east coast. I thought ROTORFEST held in NJ every year had the potential to become something in the magnitude of Sevenstock. I tried to help with the event and the people running it cared more about money (in the end) than the community. This will be my first year trying to put together an event, but will not be my last attempt. Regardless of the outcome i want to bring something like sevenstock to the east coast. It would be great if the two coasts can work together (joint venture to some extent). To help get the ball rolling for the eastern half of the USA.
